    No grip..

Exactly, I still enjoy a spirited drive when the roads are right and I know if I c**k up it's only me at risk, but I never feel at risk or out of control. The roads don't just turn to grease, on which rubber has no effect whatsoever. There is less grip, yes, but not to the extent that some...

    missile thrown at my car

I don't understand why you wouldn't formally report this? It's all well and good saying "the police won't do anything", but if everyone thinks like that then the Police will have nothing to act on. It's criminal damage, as well as being f**king dangerous, surely report it to at least make his...

    Cup racer airbox, What year?

I'm pretty sure the older Espace's were also 2.9 V6's though - haven't been able to find out if they were a different airbox; assume they must have been.

    No grip..

I honestly don't know how people spin up so much in their 1*2's! I only ever spin in first a bit if I'm purposefully gunning it when pulling away. Even in the Cup with no TC in these weather conditions, I find it quite easy to pull away and then floor it without spinning the front wheels...

can drive the cup in 2 days!

Cups are fine in the winter, it's drivers not driving to the conditions that's the risk. I've not even come close to an incident in mine.

Maybe nearer the limit is where they fail, but they seem fine stuck on a daily driver...

    nankangs good or not

People jump on the bandwagon of what they think the tyre's like without ever having used them... I've got them on the rear of mine and they've been fine for the last few months in all sorts of crap weather. I'm not saying they're a top quality tyre but I bought them to save some cash pre-MOT...

My Cup is definitely quickler than my old ph1.

    Aren't most of them pre-March?

    Is it worth it?

Performance wise, no you won't. People claim the panel filter improves the range slgithly, but it's negligable. The filter and bigger feed will improve the sound slightly, which seems to be the main reason for these IK's. The CAF in the bumper always looks quite cool - it's a thin line between...

A Solution to Ph1 Owners, Cold Knob, BE GONE!

FFS, grow some balls, man. It's a bit of metal that's slightly cold first thing in the morning.... much like my missus' chastity belt.

    182 and Valver, '94 Vs. '04

As (various) above - cracking garage! Sorry to hear your Dad's no longer with you, though. Track plans for the 16v?

    PH1 172 Maintance

Tax is, or soon will be, less than the ph2. Servicing will be around the £150 mark for minor, £200-300 for a major (slightly more for belts change) - see a specialist, NOT Renault! Common maintenance is pretty straightforward for modern cars. The 172 don't drink a lot of oil or coolant, keep...

    OMG MOT time

Aye, if there's something obviously dodgy then I'll sort it, but then there's always something that's wrong which you didn't expect which fails - this year it was the passenger side caliper causing the handbrake to fail. I'm always chuffed to bits when a car flies through with no problems.

    New Zaust how much ins

If the £36 if for 10% performance increase, then at least know you can do plenty of performance mods for this hike in insurance without exceeding the 10% performance gain!

    Trip Computer! FFS!

Hmm, think this has happened to mine a few times recently and have though nothing of it apart from being an 'electrical querk'... best get a new battery I suppose.

New to Clio ownership and mighty impressed so far...

Welcome mate, glad you're enjoying it. Mods all sound great, although I'm not a fan of debadged bonnets on the RS'...

    What colour calipers

Unless there's a distinctive colour theme throughout the car then I'd stick with black or silver.

Very nice. I'm not normally a boot build fan but I have to say it looks very professionally done.

I love how everyone is pretty much completely ignoring your replies and continue to criticise what they believe to be a serious attempt at 'rat'!

    Recommend me....

This one's quite nice: http://www.caraudiodirect.co.uk/pioneer-dehp6000ub-p-6312.html The one you've picked will fit, as the unit itself is DIN size, with an oversized fascia, but I think it looks a bit cheap.

    Couple in Exeter today

Ooh, not sure mate, was a very shiny black! I passed you just after a petrol station on the left (for you), then you go over two junctions before following the road to the right and up a hill into Heavitree (where there's a Tesco / Esso petrol station on your right)...

    my clio sport project

Apologies if it was a joke matey, but the original poster didn't get it and it came across as a little offensive considering the time and effort he's put into his car. If someone suggested that I had painted my car with hammerite, I would take that to mean that the finish and quality was not...

    Tyre help 195 or 205?

If you're getting 16's then I'd personally definitely recommend 205. I've recently goe from 195 to 205's on the Cup and the ride is so much smoother, and I also have to mount kerbs everyday in my road, so the tyre width prevents wrecking the wheels...

how often do u clean your clio

At the moment possibly once or twice a month - it looks nicer clean when it's been properly dirty previously.
