Have you talked directly to Charlie? The general consensus seems to be that if he fits your exhaust, the quality's much better.
Don't just give up on them because it's had a couple problems. Yes, it's disappointing but at least give them a call and explain the situation. It's an awful lot of...
I find it's pretty easy to feather the throttle as you let the clutch out to stop it juddering or over-revving. Little blips tend to keep it all fairly smooth.
Not too sure of the history mate, I would imagine just done on the cheap and corners cut.
There's no doubting the guy knows what he's doing and knows HOW to do a job well, but there's too many stories of poor quality work, inferior parts, 'laziness', etc. I'd guess he just didn't fix a lot of...
The reg company don't buy them mate, they'll just advertise them and then pay you for it once it sells.
I suppose they may buy really good registration marks, but not generic reg's.
In all honesty you'll struggle to sell that one, and remember that you won't have any use for the 'Cup' one...
Some great tinkering lads, much appreciated. Marky - your F1 pic was almost right, except you can see that the cars have just come round a bend and, therefore, the Clio would have all the cars through the twisties...
Cheers guys, loving some of the little touches.
Next challenge - lower slightly, Trophy-coloured turinis, matching front diamond and CAF in the front grille, please. :)
FFS. Stupid saying anyway.
Although... I did use it in a work email story (type a line and forward it on) between some colleagues the other day. It was after the Kung-Fu Kangaroo had trapped the Platypus' testicles in a bear trap, don't you know.
The pics aren't great quality, photobucket tends to resize far too small...
Thanks for the efforts guys, have to say Christopher's is the current fave. :)
I can email bigger res pics if anyone wants a better go... Chris? ;)
Photoshop peeps...
Could someone please have a go at doing something 'arty' with one / all the pics below? I want to use one as a new desktop background, but I'm bored of normal car pics.
B&W, filter effects, borders, etc welcome.
Ta :)
Welcome mate, price sounds alright.
I think I'd recommend trying to save an extra grand if possible and get a 50-60k example without any bodywork issues.
Also, make sure any ph1 you look at has had the belts changed - they will all be long overdue now. Higher miles examples are probably near...
One piece of advice mate... get prepared to travel! There are a lot of shitters out there (especially non-Cliosport sellers).
I travelled to Birmingham to look at a couple of crap examples and ended up getting my Silver one from Yeolvil - about an hour away.
I'd have preferred Blue, but I'd...
Seems a bit odd when you're in a nice car yourself, but I'd rather people be aware of potential theives if my car were the one that could be potentially be nicked than just ignore the potential thief.
I'd be gutted if someone nicked my car and then a guard turns to me and says "oh yeah, we saw...
RS Tuning is the remap of choice on here matey, but out of those two I'd stick with K-Tec - they know their Renaults a hell of a lot better than some random Superchips franchise will.
The differences are all small, but along with the fact that they have a better stance, wider track, better spolier and nicer wheels - it's the Cup for me.
It's a case of the sum of the parts being greater than all on their own, IMO.
It's the car as well apparently guys - he sold it for a few grand, the buyer took it to a garage to get some things seen to and the garage bloke basically told him to not bother with it - he sold it on again for hundreds...
A member on here was offered it back when he wanted a 172 conversion...

Most recently described as a 'death trap' IIRC...
