To burn CD's you need a drive capable of burning, if you've been doing this then you have a CD Writer, not just a CD reader.
Replacing the drive with a DVD Reader would mean you would not be able to burn CD's.
If you replaced it with a DVD Writer then you could read and write both CD's and...
You could delete it from the command prompt.
Reboot your machine, press F8 as it starts, choose the command prompt option.
Do:
CD C:\There address LOCALS~1\
<PRESS RETURN>
DELTREE Temp
<PRESS RETURN>
BEFORE YOU DO THAT: Make sure there is nothing in that folder that want to keep. There...

This is my favourite background at the moment...
Well you can delete the Temp folder. Temp = temporary. If the trojan is sat in there then deleting it will solve that problem.
Your IE problem could be anything.
Firefox - uninstall it then download it again from the Mozilla site ...
If you've saved a *.bmp as a *.jpg in IE then I'm not suprised. It will still be a *.bmp but you'll have confused any program that you try to open it with.
Rename it back to *.bmp then open in photoshop or whatever then save as a *.jpg by selecting it from the drop down menu.
You have to use Linux, not Windows and then install compiz or beryl.
And that cube IS the desktop ;)
Unless you really know what you're doing and want to try linux, then don't even think about it.
But if you're interested:

Some of us can exercise restraint ;)
All I have is my own emerald theme with transparent borders, close, minimise and maximise effects, minor wobble on move only, cube and 3d windows.
Everything else is turned off and none of the above impacts on productivity in any way.
Trust me, if you were...
lol but you can turn things off or change them to act how you want ;)
I only have a slight wobble on move, nothing else wobbles. I tend to only use one desktop these days so the only time the transparent cube and 3d windows are shown is for screenshots.
You can still have modest effects...
Excuse the burn screenshot the artifact only happens in screenshots.

Mells, if my eyes aren't mistaken you've got a Kubuntu wallpaper on Ubuntu?
Good spec and decent price.
The full advert makes no mention of a Vista coupon. If it did come with one I think they'd make a fuss about it.
Probably best not jumping head first into Vista anyway, wait for them to fix any big issues first.
I tried to post last night but the forum wasn't having any of it.
77c is way too hot. I'd say your CPU fan is well and truely knackered.
When you replace the fan, also clean out your heatsink, it's probably full of dust. Or just buy a new fan and heatsink combined.
Something like this would...
Just to add a bit.
All you need to do is take the side of the case off, follow the wires from the PSU to the motherboard and unplug that connector(s) then unscrew the 4 screws at the back of the case holding it in.
Fitting a new one is the reversal - screw it in first then connect the power...
You'll probably find a reinstall doesn't help.
*Usually* random reboots are because your PSU (power supply unit) is failing. I'm not saying that's always the case but probably the majority of the time.
Your email is obviously now being rated as spam due to your signature. Different providers may rate it differently but if you want to be sure your emails aren't getting dumped in people's spam folders then you might want to edit your signature or remove it.
Editing will obviously be trial and...
I get that occasionaly in both firefox and opera on different forums at different times. I just assumed it was a forum issue. Doesn't happen very often though.
I've got 3 TFT's + 1, I gave my dad, all different brands and I've never seen a dead pixel on any of them.
Brands:
1x no brand (15")
1x Iiyama (17")
1x Bush (15")
1x LG (19")
Been using Pipex for internet and phone calls for 11 months now without any problems and I've never experienced traffic shaping, but then I don't donwload a huge amount.
We used NTL cable in our old place.
Cable internet was fine but the cable tv box was shocking. It was always crashing or running stupidly slow.
You don't realise how good Sky is until you've been with NTL!
