I have to say Gaz, of the 197's on here, that one is prob the best looking.
Im not a huge fan of the standard 197 looks wise.....the same with the standard 172, but the R27 and Cup does appeal.
Well she was never known for her exploits round the twisty stuff.....just how well she could demolish a quarter mile!
Why the hell have i called "it", "she"???
Ahhh Kev! That Cup has lots of potential...
Eibach Sportlines or some H&R's to sit it nicer and sharpen the handling, remove the interior you don't need (i.e the rear) some nicer seats and already you have a 197 hunter without touching the engine.
Hehe....what can i say mate. Im sure if you removed the interior you'd have more of a fighting chance.;)
If it makes you feel any better, you burned out my retinas with your Xenons!
The Cup is rawer, purer and inevitably more satisfying a challenge to drive. And its faster.:quiet:
Keep the Cup and simply REMOVE the bits that you don't need. Performance thru LIGHTweight. Something 197's lack.
Awaits the Comfy Lover's replies.;)
There is a silver V6 with a private plate on that i spot in and around the area from time to time but i don't think its on here.
Its usually filthy as well.
No offence to 172 owners....each to their own and all that, but i think i'd quickly get bored of a FF 172 after having the Cup.
Just doesn't feel as special IMO
Ok lets stop the waffle.
Yes...its chavvy, and if i bought it that way i'd have back to some state of standardness pretty sharpish, BUT if YOU like it then carry on regardless.
There are worse cars on here.
You need to have Lustys 'fingers in the ears' attitude to all the negatives comments...
Hey don't diss my Cup boot, cleverly disguised as a Clare trap.....you won't rush to plonk your skinny ass in my boot again!
Tis a minter this car....and the scuff on the wheel was actually probably my fault...
Going round the one way system just up from Debenhams. I was sat at the lights as you came thru. Was about 3pm ish.
Was lower than the norm and it was wearing Turinis. Looked good.
Ahhh mate, thats looking a bit sorry for itself! Hope you manage to source the bits for not too much money.
Im surprised....only one stooopid 'ABS' comment.......people are slacking!
Audi's bore me. Only the RS4 and the R8 capture my attention.
I think if i was to get rid of the Clio i'd go DOWN in engine size.
It has to be light and it has to be fun, so i'd look at cars that get overlooked....Suzuki Swift Sport, 106 Rallye, Ford Racing Puma..something like that.
There is one glaringly obvious question that hasn't been asked yet and its one that will determine whether the guy was driving stupidly or was just caught out by the boxfresh new car.
Was it wet?
The only time i've had things get scary was on a wet roundabout and i was really being silly with the throttle....other than that i've not overstepped the limit in the wet....i've snuck up to it now and then so i know what i can and can't do with it but i usually don't bother.
Of course its...
Weekdays are spent saving fuel. Im on about 43mpg at the mo......the only time i go banzai is after 10pm or when the roads permit on the weekends.
Its kinda nice cos you pootle along during the week as if you were in something meek only for it to do a Jekyll and Hyde transformation as soon as...
Don't think it does. It does have a Yozzasport sticker across the corner of the bonnet though so its quite distinctive.
Also caught sight of a white 197 in the gloom the other evening heading from Guildford along the Aldershot road.
This could well have Gordini's on it but it was dark so i only caught a flash of blue and a set of anthracite wheels as it went past me.
I often see Carina in her RB 197 along the same stretch.
Jeeeez Dave...thats another one of your 9 lives gone along with the Sax.
Bloody glad to hear you and the girlfirend are ok!
As sir jams has said....be glad it wasn't the Clio!
