The clutch and seat issue should be more than enough to warrant you rejecting the car and asking for a new one.
Asking for skirts and a splitter is slightly pushing your luck mind you.
Depends what backbox you go for. I've taken the attitude that cos mines a stealth, its pretty much a non-rust version of the standard pipe....therefore...im keeping schtum.
The performance and noise gains are purely incidental officer...;)
Mine has had a Prospeed Stealth on it since the start of the year and its fantastic.
There were some early problems with the build quality with centre section welds/joins splitting but Charlie has cured that now.
Reasonably priced too. Just a bit of a trek involved as he's in Cardiff.
Its NOT the ECU. Its another electronic unit that controls the central locking. If your car is an import then this unit is inside a sealed box which means the whole thing needs replacing.
If its not an import, it should be seperate as its part of the alarm.
If there is a squeeking type sound that goes away once the clutch is depressed then it could well be the release bearing.
It won't harm it...it'll just get progressively noisier.
Mine is one the way out. Sounds worse on cold starts. Also the clutch pedal gorans/creaks when it gets hot.
Only...
My dad did some support crew work with the T16's back in the day.
Have to feel for Ford....they develop the RS200, build 200 road cars to homologate it, crash one in Portugal killing 3 people which then leads to Group B being banned.
Buggeration.
No no no Gem.....you don't understand how this place works!
To truly own a Renault, you must hate everything about it and then sl*g off anything else Renault.
197 owners hate 1*2's (even though they probably had one to start with and now can't accept that they may get the occasional spanking...
Check there is a splitter, first off.
Door strips are only coloured plastic....they aren't body coloured i.e glossy.
Cambelt should now be done. 2003 cars are due.
If its the standard exhaust, check for signs of severe corrosion. Backbox and centre section are most prone.
Common things are...
Hmmmmm....not sure about the new look.
Mind you, it'll look miles better once you take it off the jacks.....;) ..it definitely needs a drop.
And whats the story with those tyres? Are they 50's...or dare i say 55 in profile?!
45.6 all the way back from Warrington after the NW Wales run last month.....had to make up for the epic ragging it got the night before trying to keep ahead of Joey's DC5.
Yeah but yours is an uneducated opinion....you have no experience.
Anyway, its beside the point. I love both the Vee and the Exige so either way, you are onto a winner.
What exactly is the issue with the 197?
You obviously haven't been in any then. I don't think i'd ever place 'Exige' and 'bored' in the same sentence.
I've never EVER found the experience of climbing in and out boring....infact, once you get in you tend to want to stay in.:approve:
I think with the Sport's in particular, sticking with Renault parts is the safest bet but of course, its all down to personal preference.
Some people swear that factor parts are fine, others shy away from them.
As for the reliability, the engine (if well maintained of course) is indeed the...
This weather has its pro's and cons. It makes the die hard detailers sob into their microfibres and the "im a driving god" types cry into their freshly deflated airbags.
The wise heads inbetween simply sit back and laugh at the resulting stupidness.
I thought that at first but its too big for Somerset House, plus there isn't that much in the way of lawns as its in the Strand.
I'd say its somewhere like Kensington Palace.
