Surely the cambelt wouldn't need to be done till 2010 or 112k. In which case save your money and get the aux belt and kit done as that is actually due anyway as it hasn't been done for 36k.
Get the ones with the biggest 'UK' warrenty you can find. I got a set for £60 with a two year warrenty a couple of months ago and the kit is very high quality. The ones from china are cheap as they arn't that great.
Might be worth a search for the matched inlets theres plenty of threads on them. An induction kit makes next to no difference on these cars although you might gain abit of noise (depends who you ask though).
One of the best mods ive done by far. I know its the wimps way out of a decat but I couldn't be doing with changing the 172 cat every year plus I got one off of ebay very cheap! Torque and power increase below 5k is impressive so a decat must be even better.
Seeing you have a 182 just get a...
I'm after the wiring diagrams for the Passenger Fuse Box and Indicator Stalk or if possible all realted with the car. I heard edde has some but I can't PM him as his inbox is full! Has anybody got the diagrams that they could email to me?
Yeah I have a similar ammount of stuff its quite worrying really.
I have what I like to call car park OCD as well where I have to park in the far remote corner with the hope that nobody is going to park next to me and give me a few door dents! I will only use the spaces at uni that are set...
Try bentacre as well I can do whatever I want to my car as long as I dont stray over 200bhp. Theres also no admin fee for adding future mods to your car.
Or according to the wiring diagram the main beam switch is a white wire and the output to the fogs is pink on the passanger fuse box wiring loom. Who has any idea on the safest way of wiring these two up?
Seeing as both the fog and headlight relays are in the passanger fuse box could you not just run a wire between the two i.e. wire connected to main beam relay on the output then to the fog relay output as well or would that cause to much draw from the headlight circuit when the main beam is on?
The oil warning light is for pressure. When you turn your engine on the odometer normally says 'oil ok' (i'm not sure what it says when your low) when this is displayed press the trip reset button or the button on the end of the stalk to see your oil level. easy peasy (this is assuming that all...
Funnily enough I did realise that most country roads/back roads are not lit
There are ways to make the fog light range increase such as by removing the deflector infront of the bulb which would increase the amount of light shining forward.
We get that you think it is a bad idea...
Whats wrong with putting in new oil with older oil? I would rather do that than drive it to the garage with no oil in and sieze the engine.
What I would be more concerned about is where all the oil is going and how you have failed to see the digital dipstick everytime you start the car.
Translatting what they have told you:
Sorry mate but we didn't have bloody clue what we were doing when we changed your aux belt but we gave it a go anyway as we needed the money. As we didn't know what we were doing the belt has snapped/come off and has got wrapped up in the cambelt which...
Because of where some of us live I think lighting the side of the road is very useful. It may not be for you but it definately is for me and maybe some others.
^^ You can actually buy gaitors from halfords that you fit by gluing together along a seam. I put one on my old car just before I sold it so im not sure if they are any good or not.
I was personally thinking about doing this the other day. I think its a good idea as I live in the middle of nowhere so a bit of extra light would be nice especially when its raining. Plus fogs tend to light up verges etc which is always useful in the country as it gives a better warning of...
