Not a big Monaco fan TBH....doesn't really look special enough. Buffs up well tho....and those wheels are growing on me...its just im too used to seeing them on my mums Mk3 Dynamique!
Love it....if mine was to be stripped out and track biased i think this would be the template for it!
Just one thing i don't like....the Boys On Tour sticker. Get rid!
I don't think its that big a deal to get rid of them. Ben sent me the fixings with a detailed diagram of how they should be bolted down and there is no mention of those grommets!
All they are is an interface between the old seats and the floor.....whip them out and the subframes will be bolted...
Gonna keep mine the standard height for now....they are lower than the standard seats, but granted they don't sit you really really low.
May have a play around with them at a later date tho.
Yeah they are a huuuge improvement over the standard perches.
Going out for a drive in a bit....get the driving position perfect...and find some roundabouts.
Yes i've driven one....i remember it like it was yesterday...a black Mk 2 V6.
Twas lovely. I mostly remember the sills being foooking huge and that pretty much EVERYONE i passed couldn't take their eyes off it.
The spacers do come out BUT....you will find the slider handle fouls against the subframe if you do take them out.
I tried this morning and it doesn't look or feel safe because the handle is sitting on the subframe, thus it unlocks the slide mechanism a touch.
Pics of mine in!
They feel miles...
Mine are in!! Ben's bolt package turned up at 10am and lunch started at 1pm...they were finished by 2.15!
Ben i have to say you are a legend among the rabble....bolts were spot on and the diagram looked like you took alot of time over it!!
Can't thank you enough mate!:star::approve:
All those other tuners have had too good an innings if you ask me....GGR's time is now.
I wonder if he will go ahead with that mid-engined jobby....could be prone to the leg spin mind you.
Hmmmmm....i'd not touch a MK1 Exige...i know how bad they can be. And there aren't many left in unmolestered form!
I'd be very interested in seeing a Ph-Fred 197 Cup. The version Renault SHOULD have made.
Then again i can't see it being that much cheaper to run than the V6...both like a drink.
So that would go:
Waannaa wann naaaine sevan. Widdout da daaas....widdout sidth geear...bracks ah steeeleees....in periwinkle bluuue.
Wid a toebaaaah...and room in daa back fah me maaaa and da daags.
Ahhh ok. I was beginning to worry it wouldn't start again or something.....
Passenger seat is in for now....with temp bolts until Ben's goody bag arrives tomo.
Looks and feels gooood....the real test is how the drivers seat feels tho!
Passenger one is going in now....need to know, does the pretensioner and seatbelt mechanism bolt onto that L bracket on the side of the subframe?
And did you manage to use the existing plastic trim to cover the mechanism?
Well so much for the straightforward hassle free swap....
As i've said already, one seat has a 3/4 inch tear on top....that im gonna get neatly stitched by me mum...shes handy with a needle...plus its just the passenger seat.
The plastic trims im gonna get sent to me....can't be too hard to...
