Renault "Super De-grip" 400ml tin - 7711429184
I had an Espace IV 3.0DCi in for glow plugs and I just couldn't get the rear bank out so hit the engine build manual for help that didn't involve fire. Hiding in the notes was the part number for this stuff and the promised solution for seriously...
I hate touching glow plugs myself for this very reason and not that its much help now but... Renault "Super De-Grip" spray. Two squirts around the base of each unit, walk away for 10 mins, come back and have a go at them normally works wonders on them. I don't know whats in the tin (Obviously...
Not ideal even as a temp measure as the wire will get warm, melt the plug and potentially start a small fire. I've seen people even try this with domestic wire and it still melts the plug and runs the risk of fire.
Fix it right or don't fix it at all.
My 172 hits 36mpg but I know the timing is wrong because I set the inlet slightly advanced... should see an average of 38-40mpg on a run if everything is right with your car.
Thats the part number for a genuine renault stat kit (x1 thermostat, x1 seal).
£27!!! Hoky fek, I need to up my prices. By the time I've packaged and shipped it, its gonna be close on £23
Well, Renault SAS don't make them, they're out sourced but the best place to buy one from is your local dealer. The QH stats are actually fine but the seals are just terrible in comparison to the genuine items (they actually measure as thicker) and normally leak after a couple of months.
Stat...
Without going in to what, why and how a thermostat works... Drop the new stat in some water which covers the unit fully. Bring the water to boil and once the boiling pan water reaches 89 degrees the stat will start to open. When it does pull the stat out and watch it slowly close.
(FUCKTARD...
I'll pm you in a minute chap.
Im confident that its bottom end and not timing nor top end at fault but it won't take long to confirm belt tension.
Mick
Its the seals that tend to be shite (especially with the QH kits). Deffo use a genuine kit but always test the stat in a pan of boiling water before installing it as I've had a couple from Renault in the past two months simply not open.
Mick
Adam,
If you like I could take the drive over to see you (and the car) on Monday 25th? I don't do mobile anymore but I'll do it seeing as its my baby and bring some very basic tools so I can check the belt tension and a few other bits but I'll have to charge you for it.
PM me if interested
Mick
When I worked for Voda's engineering team (many years ago now mind) there was a reason we referred to "Orange" as "Zero range"
If I had to choose a 2G/3G network on service level it would be Voda but O2 are a close second especially as they are sharing 4G sites so when they launch there will be...
That's not too bad, I dont mind 12 month contracts either but it seems they want you on monthly contracts now (as they can change your terms monthly) unless you've absolutely gotta have that iphone 9 over 3yrs.
It depends what you do with your phones I guess. I do alot of email and access Renault and business intranet services so I'd regularly go over that 1gb limit but I'm a business user with a small tv in my pocket. I guess joe bloggs using gmail and facebook wouldn't need anymore.
Who's that with, is it really un-capped and is that a 30day contract?
I use the above with my SG Note2 but I took it out at the begining of the year when it was 3gb data... really should check to see if my data limit has been reduced (I suspect it has).
