No probs pal. Like I said - I'm not flaming anyone. Just offering my experiences. And you can see from the thread that I'm, or rather my exhaust, is the exception to the rule. Maybe I was just a bit unlucky.
Well I had to re-site the extra rear mount that Charlie fitted after about 400 miles. When the exhaust got hot it moved back, but the rear mount Charlie fitted was causing the exhaust to buckle a little and thus the tail pipe touched the surround and melted it. So add £18 for another surround (I...
lol... no worries dude. Charlie seemed a sound guy.. and I'm sure he's sort it for me if I rang him.
Just trying to put some of the comments on ProSpeed exhausts into perspective. Good value? Maybe. Best in the business? Not even close.
Right. I don't care if it's raining. Pics of my ProSpeed. Can't get under the car to show where the centre section failed too.
Broken weld.
The 'ingenious' mod to the OE bracket. Or lot's of bits of pipe, a few nuts and some cables ties bodged together as I call it.
Looks...
Jon knows. I begged my missus to get a DCI Mk3 Clio after her 1.2 16v mk2.. She went for a Mk3 1.4 16v in the end, much to my displeasure. (especially as I'm paying for it lol)
I had a Mk3 DCI as a courtesy car and it was miles better than her 1.4 (allegedly 98 bhp). Noticeably more grunt...
I'll show you some pics of my prospeed if you like. It's not the best!! Poor welds, less than brilliant design. And the way it's mounted - Some may call it clever and inventive - An engineer would call it a bodge. lol.
It was very cheap though. I paid £270 for a 2.5" bore exhaust with 3.5"...
It's a 2.0 16v NA with fairly lairy cams. Never going to pull like a diesel at 2krpm. Although that said I find the engine is actually quite torquey and you can scoot about at a fair rate even off cam. Ideal for everyday driving imho.
A remap will improve the low down pull if that's what...
Totally agree Roy. My girlfriends 1.4 Mk3 Clio has brakes which appear to operate like a switch. lol. They're either fully on or full off and with zero pedal feel. You do have to work the 1*2 brakes but they're pretty effective. I have greenstuff pads and they brake superbly for a fast road pad...
I believe Pauls map will be better than the GrpN... but that doesn't mean the GrpN is bad..... I had one for a while and out of ecu/inlets/exhaust/maxogen it made the biggest difference by some margin.
It's not actually carbon fibre I don't think. Just carbon print. I had my air rifle done by a similar method if it's the way I'm thinking of. (although my rifle was done in real tree camo not Cf lol)
I know. The welder fabricators here TIG weld 2/4/6/8" stainless flanges, fittings of all descriptions, bends, sets all day. stop trying to make it out to be more than it's not - In the great scheme of things it's f**k all!!
If he's got time, I'll get him to make one.
once you have the jig set up.... You could fire them out by the bucket load. don't let anybody tell you that welding two flanges and a couple of nuts onto some stainless pipe is big deal lol. Trouble is that a) stainless prices are sky high b) People charge the earth for labour
Oh I'm sure they won't. That's just what they're geared for.
Thought I'd save someone the embarassment of saying "I've had 155 GPS out ma 172 on the M1 innit"
This forum amuses me in that people buy a hot hatch renowned for it's handling and all they harp on about (not necessarily this...
