If you are interested i have a spare set of 172 alloys if you fancied having a runner set. All tyres are legal and i'd let you have them for a fair price!
Local as well.
I was down for the weekend seeing my girlfriend who lives in Mile Oak and who is also on here!
We both had the day off today and she had some shoes to take back in Brighton so we parked in the Mall car park.
She recognised the car when i pointed it out!
Expensive?! Sod off....for a 21 year old thats a steal. Nice one fella....at least you can spend the money you have saved fuelling the thing!
Have fun!
Slight understatement there Rich...how about "just rolled off production line spec"?:)
Mines a 52 plate, 38k, oil changed every 8k, cambelt done, brakes done, all fluids changed, 4 perfect wheels and tyres and generally pretty tidy.
Well im not blinkered....i've driven the 197 and i got out of it rather underwhelmed.
Im not against the car though. It looks good. Especially lowered.
I've been considering my options for a car to replace the Cup (if i decide to next year) and im relying on the 197 Cup or Trophy being...
I don't usually bother with FF 172's as most look beaten up and neglected...well round my way they do anyway.
I do acknowledge Cup's, 182's and Trophies though as most actually know what the are driving....
Thats a Mk1 ph2 i think(?).
The difference is some slight styling changes. I know the Mk1 Ph3 has more rounded headlights but im not sure what the differences are between the phase1 and phase 2.
I couldn't care less if i had Xenons or not....i've upgraded my bulbs to Blue Visions and they are pretty darn good.
I remember one guy had Xenons on the Late Night Welsh Run i did and no one wanted him behind them as he blinded everyone...
Going back down the layby where all the trucks park up. I was helping unload a transporter parked on the left hand side. Had its windows down and music was up loud....again i failed to spot a reg...my bad.:o
Hmmmm...if i can be bothered...
Unfortunately im gatecrashing a Mini Cooper S Run the day after and i don't fancy hacking all the way to Bluewater then all the way to the coast the day after so i won't be coming along.
I can recommend EBC Greens and Brembo High Carbon discs.
Again unless you are going to do track work you won't really need to stray far from the standard setup. Brembo High Carbons are basically like the OE discs just a bit better.
If you have a spare 700 to spend on suspension, and you know you'll be venturing onto the track more than never then sure, buy H&R's...they are the dogs dangly bits but if you are after cheap handling improvements go for Eibachs.
I put Pro's on mine and its a barely noticeable drop but the...
Trackdays are really for honing your technique and racing the clock essentailly....to race other people you probably need to look into arrive and drive race events.
Well it was an Inferno 182 with a CAF and what looked to be your numberplates driving thru Ripley today at about 1pm...driven by a guy tho...the other half maybe?
Well ive decided the car will get the works on the Friday evening before we drive up on the Saturday and then the rest is in the lap of the gods so to speak.
Im sure we will be spray waxing etc on the campsite Saturday evening but if the weather is shocking then it'll all be a waste of time...
Best bet for cleaning wheels is to take them off completely. Doesn't last long in this weather mind you but done every few months it stops the paint from lifting on the insides and in turn prevents it from spreading to the outsides.
Well i've driven my fair share of quick stuff...350bhp Esprit, 220 Bhp Exige S, 300bhp Impreza...all are stunningly fast but its not like i get in my car everyday after work and think it feels slow....far from it.
I think some perspective is needed. The 1*2 is fast for what it is....stop doing...
