    ah Craggy dood - respect .. sounds like a wheel was slipping then suddenly caught some grip... bout time ya got an LSD.. or SOME lsd lol.. if it drives ok now.. dont worry about it.. probably just the road surface ps.. the turbo will be coming to yet soon... when do you want one on...

    no m8.. it doesnt recalibrate.. it wont do anything for you at all.. it wont apapt to a new anything. there ya go.. speak to Nick Hill @ Hillpower for details of chipping if you need any adjustments. Joe

    optimax is petrol.. nothing more. use the nearest garage of any supplier for any petrol. the difference on a 172, for example, with 98, 97 or vanilla unleaded is not noticable on the road.. optimax dont clean any better than any other uk petrol. another coup for the marketing teams...

    Gearboxes

    the clutch can cetainly take 250nm of torque, thats far more than a 172.. true capability is probably 3-350 nm.. its got a built in shock absorber for drive takup too and turbo load, should be great with nos. I have just measured the clutch clearence and I dont think you could put an adapter...

    ben, again, even the rise from 7k to 7.5k is adding apx 300 positive g and 500 negative g - (piston push, piston pull) pretty amazing increase... Joe.

    Hi Ben, not really, The pre-ignition sources are all on the piston rim / flat top to squish area.., re fuelling.. best is to check the fuelling on the rr with the gas analyser.. lama lights etc are pretty much useless due to the delay in response .. they give you a good feel for the mix, but...

    HI Eddd m8. Sorry, but tyres are not my forte really.. I personally like yokos.. I used the a008 for a few years on my tvr 350i.. bu, for a clio, I really am not the best person to ask Joe.

    Just a point.. the willy and valver will be the same type of non linear rise.. however, the stroke of the engine determines the max g load applied. Joe..

    here is a graph for the 172 f4r engine - valver and willy very similar. this is G force against rpm. the gforce is the force experienced by the piston, wrist pin and the crank pin.. these are HUGE loads. between 1000 and 5000 rpm you have a fairly linear increase in load.. between...

    Simon, I can get you a brand new 6 speed manual with flywheel, clutch cover and plate for £895 - (renault price nearly 3k !) It would need a 3/8th dural adapter plate making... you could have it laser cut for about 50 quid. that would bolt to your engine.. and, you get a mega uprated...

    also, re the timing.. moving the hall effect pickup is rather crude.. to say the least !.. this alters the WHOLE map.. not where you need it.. I wouldnt touch it with a barge pole personally.. stone age springs to mind. Joe

    ok, the clio cup racer (which I think you are referring to... the engine is the same as a 172.. it has a rev limit apx the same - certainly NOT 9000 the cams are the same.. the exhaust is basically the same with a race cat, the induction is modified.. the increase in performance comes...
