I have a reasonable detector.. radar and laser.. be careful of yank ones with xband.. they give loadsa false readings unless they got a desensitivity or xband disable...

the engine is the same as a 172.. it has a rev limit apx the same - certainly NOT 9000 the cams are the same.. the exhaust is basically the same with a race cat, the induction is modified..
the increase in performance comes...
Simon, sorry to ask again, but does the immobiliser work ??..
if so, did the guy have a device to communicate with the ecu via the service connector under the dash ??..
he would have had to have, first, read your transponder and security code, then programmed that into the ecu..

unfortunately, you cant just change the cam without looking at everything else.
Tomorroy I am testing the cams n the 172 and the turbo unit.. I have made a jig to allow the protractor and dial gauge to be set up and can measure lift - (At the valve) in 2 degree increments..

if its the head to cam cover joint.. INSIST on a new cylinder head complete !
they cannot do anything about a mating surface problem here apart from slap sealant in it.. the cam bearings are align bored in the 2 halves, so they cannot skim either surface..

on the 172 there are 2 seals at the timing belt end of the camshafts (1 for each cam) and anther blanking seal at the back end of the cams near the gearbox area.
the cam top cover is located on the head with no gasket - just a smear of sealant.
if its leaking at the ends (the seals) or...
