the renault factory paint jobs are sh*te.the paint layer is just so thin it chips so easily.when i can be bothered im gonna get my bonnet redone.my mate had his 172 bonnet redone and he hasnt got any new stonechips yet.
you could get a 1.7ltr 5 monaco and put the 1.7ltr turbo lump in it out of the volvo.that would be quick and seeing as there both a similiar engine you could probably use a lot of the hoses, mounts etc.
peice of piss.screws into the head on the gearbox end.its the sensor with the white connector on it.you need a 21m deep socket.the other brown one next to it is for the temp gauge.
all depends on the box really.the garage have got to join it to the rest of the exhaust that may be a different size and be able to mount it on the hangers.fitted a rage back box to an old clio before and i managed to get that to fit without to much trouble.rage do a 4inch tailpipe as well
rear pads are thinner to start with so sometimes look more worn then they actually are.i must admit though that the rears do seem to wear a lot, maybe its the handbrake causing the wear as well.
ive left the original air duct in and fitted the hillpower scoop+air ducting, ive just routed it differently to where they suggest.my air ducting/scoop comes out between the radiator and the subframe underneath.
the engine fuse/relay box cover or the injection ecu cover(small metal cover on back of engine).the ecu cover is commen for rubbing through the wiring loom.

the group n ecu will still pass an mot test.even race cars i should think will have some form of emissions limit.the group n wont be to much different to the standard ecu.
the only way a cat could affect performance is if it is starting to collaspe internally.the particles can bung up the cat/exhaust.if you bang the cat(when cold of course) with your hand does it rattle?
that air scoop idea in the front wheel arch liner is a bit of a crap idea.i left the original feed in and put the hillpower feed through down the side of the radiator.put the airscoop sticking out between the subframe and radiator.will post a pic if i can.
about 10+bhp(2ltr) but i think its the torque you will gain the most and you can still use the 1.8 gearbox that will help as well.another bonus is the engines look identical so most people wont even know its a 2ltr.
