i would have thought it would be easier just to drop the complete 2ltr engine in(all the engine mounts etc are the same).if you get a complete engine youll get all the auxs bits.i would have thought most of the 1.8 bits would fit on the 2ltr engine anyway if you needed to.
letting of the gas halfway through a corner at speed will set the tail wagging.done it in my cup a few times and that handles pretty well.just sounds like you were going to quick.
best on the direct desial engines on the master van when the belt goes and the valve heads get embedded in the piston combustion chamber.that gets exspensive.
the ecu is operating the stepper moter as required for the coolant temp it is reading but if this reading is wrong then the stepper moter isnt operating for the actual coolant temp so your idle speed will be wrong.
