haven't tried them mate but It would have to be as good if not better than the trophy set up. I'd love to drive a properly set up 1*2 with coilovers as mine wasnt a patch on the trophy when running budget vmaxx
I think if you're looking at purchasing a trophy and not looking to spend anymore than £7k you could get something like:
40-50k miles
FSH
Cambelt and aux belts done
Sach's refurbed
Probably have a stainless steel exhaust
Good condition
Similar money for FRS:
75-90k miles
probably in a lot...
For the road I think the trophy is better than a 1*2 on coilovers. I dont particularly like the high look of the trophy, infact it boils my p!ss, I can't decide whether I will ever get a coilover set up to sit low but still handle aswell as the trophy and for affordable money. I.E not over £1k...
For the way I drive the Trophy is brilliant, hard to really use it these days as it was meant to be, but when that oportunity comes up it suprises you as a driver as of its true capabilities.
I personally didnt believe all the hype with trophy's when I had my ph1 172, but now owning one its...
Lol I bet you can really feel the .2 seconds? You really need to drive them both. I drove a 172 cup back to back with the trophy and even though the cup had 30k on and my trophy has 70k you could immediately tell the difference. Better seating position, better power delivery and the handling was...
Bro had a focus rs and I enjoyed it a lot. Not a patch on the trophy as a drivers car IMO but for something to do day to day stuff in the focus would be a better car. If you want to buy a car and keep it standard it would be a very very hard choice for me.
Money wise you will get a much...
If geddes isn't up for the rep position I'll happily step in. Been around NE scene for quite a few years and know what's what and know a lot of the members
Re: Project 172k Trophy, & its endless track abuse
Just abuse it dave.
Glad you finally got round to fitting the ARB, sounds like you're equally as impressed as I was. Need to order myself another as I sold the fixed one off the ph1
Good to hear it solves the 3 wheel tendancy as that was...
Try using the search button next time, I entered 2118 in the box and the first thing that popped up was this

Also, what's your thoughts on the H+R's? Does it handle well that low? I know my old Vmaxx on the ph1 werent the best, I'm thinking h+r's are the key for the trophy to get some stance with handling
Rota Slipstreams.
I'm guessing any spoon wheels will be 5 stud as most if not all Type-r's have 5 studs on them, I know ek9's do anyway
They'd look so much better in 16's, got me thinking.... :D
oh my f**king word. What were you thinking? You must feel like a right bell end driving around in that.
Make it look standard again and that will be the best thing you've ever done for that car...poor thing
Yep been in the garage for the last week nights at -0 degrees, not the best weather to be doing It I agree
Tom- for the work done no I wouldn't say they paid much at all, I know if they'd gone to a proper company it would be 4-5 times more
Dave- It's really good stuff isn't it. I used it on my 100k mile old 172 seats and they came up amazing
I uses rotary only on the Lexus as it wasn't too hard to correct
As for the Leon, I used a mix of rotary on the metal parts and megs g220 da on the bumpers. I spent 3 hours alone on the...
