I really can't live with the ride height of the trophy any longer, even with the mark fish springs it doesnt look low enough for me.
I'm after a Coilover that will offer good drivability even when low, I'm not talking silly low but around 40-50mm all round. I will be using a whiteline adj Rear...
I'd really like to know who these company's are, I dont understand why people will tell the story but not tell you who the company is, pretty pointless as it will save other people from being disapointed.
The only car I heard that ran right was the monaco blue done by Rs tuning, forgot the...
So you hit the kerb with the rear left, didnt hit any of the front wheels but they adjusted your front tracking to straighten up the steering wheel?
I would get someone to follow you and check the car isn't crabbing on the road, this is when all the wheels are driving straight but the body of...
Re: French car show 2011
I just go to watch the track action mainly, also the night before in the hotel is always a good'un. Stayed in the hampton last year and was awesome, in the players bar after watching the shower of s**t that is england play.
Anybody ever done a back to back RR test with standard vs orbisoud system for the 182?
I'm thinking of going custom exhaust and the one the company makes looks identical to the orbisoud so looking to see what sort of gains I'd Get
If I couldnt get some cheap cams I would just do inlets, ptfe inlet gaskets, exhaust, panel filter and custom map from RS tuning.
Strip it out, put some propper bucket seats in as the trendlines dont offer the best lower support, add a whiteline rear anti roll bar and either coilovers or mark...
standard grey 182 wheels or grey turini's only IMO for a LY of any colour. It contrasts nice with the paint but still means you can see the design of the alloy. In this case I agree the f1's make it look a bit dated, as much as people rim you for having 16" f1's, I personally have never seen the...
Yeah I know mate, I'm easy going just think I would've attacked the windows rather than the paintwork :)
Were you both standing by with your Da's ready to pounce :p, more to the point, two detailers were happy to even see that mess? That fiat would've made me go and get my cleaning gear and...
surely they would've given you some sort of indication as to why it is so low down on power, it should be quite close to 180bhp if it's a propper remap
I wasn't going to comment on the drawing but it really suprises me how the 'enthusiasts' haven't got the brain power to register that grit/dirt when rubbed in will scratch the paint work. I dont think it matters whether this car is new or not, it shouldn't of happened but will easily be corrected.
Re: French car show 2011
I think the lack of trade stands is probably something to do with the ammount of wind there seems to be surround the rockingham area.
I dont care for the location at all, silverstone would be awesome and I'd be definitely up for getting out on track.....
I thought the 5kRPM power increase was down to fueling. You will lose the 'kick' but it will have more power lower down the rev range and be much more drivable.
I noticed an increase in MPG on the ph1 172 with just a simple RS tuner remap. On a trip to scotland I got 43mpg and I wasn't taking...
Re: Project 172 Trophy Red Megane 225 Powered Heavy Track Car
might get my old rockers off and paint them andy, cant decide whether to go grey inlets and grey rockers or a mix match, want it to look perfect for next year
Ph1's are just the same as the rest, same suspension etc as 172 cups and tbh they're all pretty much the same to drive.
Check for wear on the engine and gearbox mounts, they aren't cheap to replace.
As for performance. I had k-tec de-cat, Btb stealth cat back, itg panel filter and Rs tuner...
You've probably got the best of both worlds there then mate with a cup and an frs. The thing I'd be concerned about is how reliable can the frs really be as yours is clearly a weekend toy
Jd will be able to bring it back to life and probably better to have it done now while its new and get some protection on the paint.
I recently had to do an 'emergency' detail on a Lexus is200 I'd done previously in the year. Guy wasnt up to washing the car but didn't care for driving it around...
I'd probably go for the megane r26 aswell
As good as the idea sounds of having a charged Clio they seem more common to end up in a full on horror storey of cars breaking down and blowing up.
If the Clio is a must I'd probably look at itb's, keep it n/a as it was intended from the factory
I know the recaro's are expensive but they're worth it. I know some had issue's with them but they're under warranty so should be able to be replaced. I would never spec a car to a lower spec of what I really want, its pointless as you're always going to want them
People still sell the recaro's...
My 182 was exactly the same, just after 6300 it seemed to just drop off and lose its power, then regain it at 6900....very strange. We thought possibly a sensor or injector issue, however I would think if it was a faulty injector it might play up earlier in the rev range
I've got no idea about the rears, just know the fronts are eibach, I'm guessing the rears would be aswell
Get some pics up with the mark fish set up on mate
My bro's FRS started to bubble slightly on the rear arch.....
I've driven both, the focus is a more grown up car IMO, better put together but for the type of driving I do I cant see it being reliable/fun enough to keep me ammused. The trophy still shocks me with its capabilities but you need to...
I think the op wants to keep either car standard so it all goes down to personal circumstances.
Do you like to drive fast or is it just a posing machine? I'd rather have a well looked after Low mileage trophy than a high mileage, neglected frs.
The majority of trophy owners are enthusiasts...
I was looking at H+R's mate, I've had kw's before but not on a clio but was very impressed.
Maybe I will give them a try, what's the worst that can happen
