I was looking to try and get something adjustable but lower than the trophy's 4x4 stance, seems kw/bilstein only make stuff for 172/182 without cup packs. I also wanted to try and get a setup as good as the sachs on the road but also good on track...seems to be impossible without investing some...
Are you serious? They're not raw at all, just the same as a ph2 but with an undesirable dash board. I honestly think some people on here haven't experienced something basic but ballistic, I wouldnt even call a cup raw, the last I drove had more body roll than a fat american.
In my honest...
I've only been making the point about the location as I'm getting the drift this coming meet is to really meet everyone from all over the North East and I personally think having it more Central will attract more members to come.
More members meeting people will mean they're more comfortable...
Re: northeast big meet!!!!!!
I have been making the point for others not myself, luckily I'm slap bang in the middle of shields and middlesborough etc and around 15 miles from Durham .
I know the idea of shields is a cracking one for a future meet but if this meet is a 'BIG' one and is set...
Re: northeast big meet!!!!!!
My point exactly, Durham is more central for everyone, you can't expect members who may not have even met anyone to travel 40-45 miles especially in the latest driving conditions, fair is fair.
Personally I think until the north east is built back into a strong...
Re: northeast big meet!!!!!!
Would like to come but it's a bit out the way lads, is Durham not more of a suitable location to cater for the guys out in the sticks and in Stockton
I honestly think if your children are interested in driving and cars etc pay for plenty of track tuition. I learnt so much on my first experience day it taught me a lot about a cars balance, generally when and where to accelerate and the best rev range to be when coming out of a corner...
This happened march 2009 as far as clio trophy says, hence how the lad has another trophy now. Either way we've all been guilty of giving it the big'un. More so when you're younger. Thankfully nobody innocent was involved (apart from the passenger)
Re: NE Deatiling Ltd Winter Specials
taking my dads car there tomorrow as the hose is froze up :@ For the sake of a fiver and to know the technique is going to be spot on, you can't complain
Sorry matey but unless you're an absolute faggott you can still go as quick as anything else (apart from trophys :p), you just have to have a little more talent to keep it on track. Granted it wont be anywhere near as good as It could be, but it will still handle ok.
Here's a pic of my ph1...
Never had any issue's with either of my clio sports. Used to get 35-45mpg from the 172 depending how I drove it, that was with de-cat aswell, same with the trophy, quite good cars on fuel IMO
Looks like a 2.5" mate, i know that's what I want to run. My point was the design (from what I've seen) looks similar to the orbisoud
I'm hoping it will make a bit of improvement with a de-cat.
Greeny - I ran a de-cat only with my standard system for ages, it seemed to improve performance...
Still need a blast out in it mate, love how quiet yours is, will sound even better with a de-cat....how much is he charging you??? Are you going by the strict understanding its for motorsport use only
Mr Hunter says 50bhp so I'm guessing around that?
No in all seriousness I was informed a few times the orbisouds are the best system for the 182, its a more straight forward looking system without the need for unnecessary bends (IMO) on other well known systems, I can only see this restricting...
Not sure mate just know he makes extremely good exhaust systems and generally good at bending bits of metal lol, he does loads of different fabricating.
Aas are custom but he will keep the same design throughout each 182 exhaust he does I imagine
If anything the one I get will be better than an orbisoud, the guy who does them (AAS) increases the width on any bends to keep the flow rate up, I think all of his systems are bench tested before fitting anyway
The thing that put me off AST's was most I've seen have to be rebuilt every so often, is this more down to heavy track use or not being suitable for the road?
I think Kw V2's sound like the ones to go for, do you think Kw would custom make me some v2's with the correct cup/trophy hub spacing?
Do you think I could get anything that would perform as good if not better than the trophy but on the desired ride height drop?
I dont want to sacrifice looks for handling tbh as the trophy is one of the best cars I've driven on the limit, it could just do with being a bit more planted and lower.
Dropping it 40-50mm will not make it undrivable in the slightest, I'm not after putting it into the ground, otherwise I would just buy some cheap coilovers and completely ruin the car.
As for a 'bit harsh' the sachs set up doesnt exactly offer the most comfortable ride.
One of my Sach's...
