    Whining with revs...

If the PAS pump is to be changed then yes, I'm afraid it does but if its had a kit recently (or if the current idler is fine and the tensioner is still moving freely on its pivot point) i'd just put a new belt on which is around £14 new for a genuine item.

    Whining with revs...

Mine does it... PAS is the cause on mine. Go full lock and give it some real force when it reaches the end of lock. If the pump gets mega noisy there's your problem. Mick

I gave it a quick wax today to... Turns out Pearl Black looks epic clean (OCD's are gonna go mental with this one): Just got to find a decent product for getting 9yrs of brake dust off the alloys now. This body doesn't do Lycra... It does do bacon sarnies though.

I thought I'd buy one to see what you lot are banging on about. Plus I've never actually owned one before so I sold the Laguna and found a decent enough one on Autotrader in need of a small amount of work for £900. I really wanted a 172 Cup but this one just appeared at the right time Slowly...

Steering sensor reading 8000 and summin degrees

It's okay chap, don't worry about it. It's a common fault though on the MkII setup as there's two position markers; one for the main clockring assembly am another for the SAS... The latter being hidden by the clockring so its easy to get them misaligned. Mick

FFS Dave watch the films!!!! Of course not, only Vin Diesel wears the white vest because he's the Billy b****cks. Everyone else has to wear black or darker shades of vest attire which designates their ranking within the "team" We can get some vests from Mothercare for Harpham though

    Clios on 17s

Clio's on 17s I actually jut spat my tea out of my nose! A customer of mine has an RB on 17" Prima Williams Reps and I must confess to liking it slightly.

Steering sensor reading 8000 and summin degrees

Calibration works by looking at the sensor value and then commits that number to memory (we call this 0-0). Then when you turn it one way the value falls (1-0) or increases when your turn it the other way (0-1). If the value doesn't change then either the sensor is shot (happens when they're...

Steering sensor reading 8000 and summin degrees

Right, so the SAS angle value is stuck solid at over 8000degrees. Most likely cause is a faulty SAS unit. Replace, ensure it is set at 0-0 before refitting to a level steering column and retest. Ie herd of Launch but never used it so can't say if its a machine fault either. Mick

UCH fault? Chattering relay knocking out electrics

I personally prefer to have the car as sometimes the fault lays in the wiring but if you want me to take a look and test/repair (if possible) your UCH then you're more that welcome to send it in to me. Address is on my website: www.diamondmotors.co.uk Mick

UCH fault? Chattering relay knocking out electrics

Probably a bit too far to travel then. Sometimes these units can be repaired and it will hold but other times you just keep repairing a track only for it to blow again after a few days/weeks/months. I believe BBA offer a 12month warranty in there repairs but just bare in mind it may be back to...

They're funny things - I use a large flat screw driver which I wedge between the two parts and then twist... This forces the two pieces apart.

computer having a moment, with vid.

It's because the computer has been reset. It works out your average MPG over distance an needs at least 0.5miles to start working its magic. After that, the more miles you've done the more stable the reading will be. If you've only done 3miles (for example) and then sit at a set of red lights...
