Its probably the strut top mounts. Mine made the same noise so got Renault to check it out. Turns out its a common fault so they have a remedy procedure to cure it.

Well i had a similar squeeky type rattle which i found was the ECU bracket which had snapped and was grinding against the metal below it so may be worth a check. Other than that i'd just check all the usual Clio faults...exhaust, heat shields, strut top mounts, engine mounts etc! Good luck!

Well I work for a car dealership and we regulary get wheels sent for refurb or re-colouring and they charge approx £40 per wheel so you'd be looking at that kind of price (as a minimum estimate). This is the company's website and i can assure you the quality of the work and finish is A1...

Check the metal shield that covers the engine management box just behind the battery. The bracket that secures it may have snapped as this sounds similar to what happened to mine. Its only a thin piece of metal secured by a bolt and washer to the nearside turret and can snap causing vibration...

If your happy with the fact that you aren't really gonna get much more performance out of it and you know you will be keeping it for a while then i think spending the money on some well thought out mods is a good way to go. Coilovers, cup spoiler, 172 wheels or turini's, then go for the body...
