Oh yeah its terribly high. I even had to tell them i don't have a reverse gear as they would have heaped an extra 100 quid on my premium as Cups are prone to reversing into other cars at high speed...
Ahh yes of course!!! How silly of me to forget....there MUST have been another Cup written off then because it CAN'T have been a car with ABS!
They don't crash you know....
Ma niggles...
1) There is some sort of knocking coming from the engine bay on bumpy roads....elusive as feck. Suspension most likely.
2) Pads and Discs due next month.
3) 2 small dents but really not obvious
4) Various interior rattles that disappear when stereo gets louder. Sorted.
5) Aux belt...
I thought another had gone.....i felt a disturbance in the force.
I see none of the "oooh its Cup killing season" brigade have chirped up...they have no "pro ABS" ammo when its a Cup killed by rear ender.
Wow....no one has roasted you yet for the henious crime of speeding in your performance Clio.
Everyone must be going soft...usually the CS Speeding Punishment Police would have given you a good telling off by now;)
The 182 gains its 10bhp from a freer flowing exhaust...thats about it.
A 4-2-1 manifold and twin exit pipes the main contibutions to it.
Other than that its purely down to personal preferences....i.e do you want a newer one with less miles or do you want to save a bit of cash and put it...
Ironically the best my car runs is when its foggy....nice dense cold air....just a shame you can't drive at any sodding speed.
My best runs are around about the midnight mark.
Im convinced my Cup has a Jekyll and Hyde complex.
In daylight hours its grumbly, rattly, knocky, has moments of...
Just so you know, i wasn't ranting about the whole "not realising you are doing 120" thing.
In my opinion (and experience) certain cars make you well aware you are do anything on and over the ton mark....the Cup being one of them.
The flipside being big saloons. I've driven my step dads Volvo...
So it seems to me, judging by all the "what a tw*t" and "how irresponsible driving at that speed" comments, that the majority of people on here are saintly drivers who have bought and have done up their Clio SPORTS, without any intention whatsover of ever driving over ANY enforced speed limits...
Didn't fancy Sportlines. Yeah they lower it and all that shizzle which is great if you are part of the "its gotta be lowered!" gang but its not what i was after....and i didn't want to start changing dampers.
Personally im pleased with the results its given and the car feels back to its best...
I was wondering if someone was gonna pick up on it being stupidly clean under there! :D
Mate im sure if you lose the rear headrests and the engine cover your's will be just as light and therefore rapid as mine! ;)
The new springs do feel good though....sexual infact :approve:
Thought i'd take the Cup down my own personal proving ground tonight.....well its really just a nice and varied 3 mile country road (with a decent surface!), as i haven't really pushed the car since i fitted the Pro's on Tuesday.
I have to say im very impressed.
The car seems to generate alot...
Well as i understand it, most dealerships don't allow SALES STAFF under 25 to drive the Sport models either.
Believe what you will but thats from a mate who is a Renault Salesman.
Well i had an airgun...it was never gonna happen without it as the strut top nuts weren't budging, and the lower strut nuts were pretty darn tight even after being soaked in WD for a few hours.
I also had a ramp which saves messing with jacks and axle stands, but its not really a simple case of...
Drove it home, but didn't go mad. Was gonna go banzai down a favorite road of mine but i think im gonna let it settle for the night.
Have to say it did feel alot tighter and less prone to roll.....front end certainly feels more 'pointy'.
As for any drop, well its fairly minute if there is...
Very good Slick...but no such luck!
All done! First front took an hour and a half the other one took all of half an hour!
As for the rears....well "springs should pop out" means get a ball joint separator and lever them out....well i had to anyway...they don't just pop out!
And to get the...
Thank god for that.
I had a horrible feeling that maybe the springs were for a 1.2 or something....i tend to worry like that!
Hub was well supported although it was awkward, and wanted to keep flopping forwards or backwards!
Well im halfway thru the front changeover.
I didn't realise the new spring was gonna be bigger than the standard one!
No need for spring compressors taking the old ones off but god knows you need them putting the new ones on!
Doesn't help the ones at work have gone walkies....i only have...
Awesome...EXACTLY what i was looking for.
The workshop computer sits about 6 ft away from the nearest ramp so that page will be up tomo when i come to do the job!
Cheers Fubar.
Yeah thats why you have spent a small fortune on it!
Im just jealous though....i'd have buckets and H&R's in a heartbeat if i wasn't so careful with money.
For me, i tend to work out what i've got left every month and budget for bits.
This month has been springs...next month will be brakes.
We can do but our tracking gear is in dire need of renewal.
We tend to use Guildford Tyres as they have laser tracking gear and they tend to do mine for a 5 finger discount, so i'll prob get them to do it at the weekend before the meet.
