I've just bought some 2nd hand Eibach Pro springs for the Cup and although im well aware it won't drop the car by much, i've heard that it may even raise the front!
Is this true? Does anyone have any pics of a Cup, before and after on Pro's?
Why thank you mate, very nice of you to say so. It was never my intention to have a set of wheels for winter but ive come round to the idea.
I have a friend who is heavilly into the Vee Dub scene and he says alot of people with GTi's etc have a winter set.
In the process of taking the wheels...
Hold on people. Are you lot gettin narked at the fact that i am considering having a set of wheels for the winter?
I think the sarky comment about replacing the bumper and bonnet is rather amusing...i appreciate that sense of humour.
One thing is for sure though, i'd much rather preserve my...
Yeah but no 1.2 has a colour that gooood....hehe.
They are gonna be on the car from November to March from now on so i suppose i'll have to get used to them!
Mate, hats off to you. That looks fantastic!
I'd hold off from doing anyone elses until you have people literally throwing money at you to do it...because for now you have a completely unique Clio, but i can see a very spacious bandwagon approaching!
Doesn't look right does it?
I keep catching myself looking at it and thinking, god im glad i don't have a 172 FF.;)
Joking aside, i can see why so many people go the Turini route...everyone who has seen my car this week on those wheels have asked why the hell ive changed them!
Normal service...
Well a couple of the Turini's have been away to Spit And Polish for a refurb so the Cup has been on my recently acquired winter wheels.
Im surprised how much ive missed the turinis to be honest...the car looks narrower with standard 172 rim on, but then again i should have expected that as the...
I have to admit i did aim some carefully worded retailation at that Ja.Jack character just because the comments he made were absolutely mindless....Good work on the tidy up job Jon.
Was the water pump on its way out? If its been running with water leaking from the pump pulley then it dramatically weakens the belt, hence why it may have gone before it should have.
Sheeeeet, sorry to see that Mikey.
I have to say the roads are absolutely appalling at the moment....i think i might keep my 172 slave wheels on until March is done with.
Got 2 of my turini's away for refurb at the moment. God knows i'd be livid if the same thing happened to me!
Hope you havent...
Yeah thats repairable. I took a similar chunk out of one of my turini's on a late night run in Wales last year and got Spit And Polish to refurb it....came back better than new.
Looks tidy. Im not usually a fan of decals but those look nice and subtle....steering wheel is similar to that you get in the new Lotus Europa and is a nice looking wheel.
If you wanna see a perfect example of Axle Tramp watch the car chase in Bullitt.
There's a bit when Steve overcooks it on one particular turn and has to reverse the Mustang up. He spins up the rears and you can see the left rear hopping up and down as he does it....great bit of film.
Ha! Easilly done though. My mate couldn't find his glasses for a good 2 months only to open his bonnet and find them sitting on top of his air filter box.
Similar to mine. Got mine from a stealer though! 2 1/2 years old, 8500 miles for £8200!
Helped that i know nearly all the sales guys there and saw, and test drove the car before it was even put on the forecourt....also knocked 500 quid off cos it was me.
Just out of curiosity, how much do the other Cup owners on here pay for insurance?
Mine was came up for renewal with Direct Line and its still around the £820 mark.
Im 24 with 4 years no claims and all the usuals, car "garaged" and "8000" miles per year etc.
No convictions and only an...
Hehe...well as long as you promise!
Well hopefully mine will be back on its Turini's by next Sunday....im not a great fan of the standard 172 wheels its wearing at the moment, but i guess im gonna have to learn to live with it. They will be on for the winters from now on!
