New car smell from CG is very good, smells dodgy when you first spray but settles down to a very natural, new smell...
Needs redoing often I've found though.
I like the fact that Evo have chosen the Mini over the 197, as I was starting to think that they were unnaturally biased towards the RS range.
Haven't read it fully, but I think they've highlighted the fact that it's more 'grown up' and that's taken the raw edge away.
That's the problem with modifying a car, it creates ties both financially and emotionally to the car that you wouldn't have if you kept it standard.
If you're constantly thinking about selling and have something else in mind, then stick it back to standard and sell, you'll only regret it if...
16" F1's are rare as rocking horse poo mate, unless you get them without the lip, in which case everyone in the RS circle will know you're a bit fat phoney! Well, they don't look as good.
That would be awesome mate, there's another member on here that would like to do the same so if something can be sorted then it would probably end up being worthwhile.
Cheers,
Ad :)
That seems to be astonishingly good mate, take some time driving her hard to get her opened out a bit, otherwise you could have a 'slow' one! :rasp:
Seriously though, that's a good around town figure, even if you're taking it slow to start with, even better if you're having fun with it.
Sounds like good service, a time when companies can use text messages to good use.
I thought you were going to say they had text you to inform you that there was a problem with the order or something, at which I was going to complain at the use of text messages in business!
But, you didn't...
Yes, but I am 99% he will be the best value for money around.
For example, The Plastic Surgeon want somewhere in the region of £250-300 to refurb my wheels, Fred's quotes are considerably less than this and well worth a drive to Bristol if he can collect / deliver from there.
Welcome and enjoy, a nice colour you've got there.
I would agree about the Toyo's being a bit dodgy in the wet, but they're excellent in the dry and I'll be replacing my fronts for some more on Thursday. :)
Lol, I know... luckily it's not an urgent matter!
I'm not going to bother him by phoning yet as I know he's busy and I'm in no rush, but will keep this alive until I get a reply and hopefully a solution that suits us both.
Just a quick question:
Need to get my wheels refurbed sooner rather than later, based in Exeter.
Haven't really got the time to get up to Brum and back, and don't fancy paying 2 lots of postage.
Any chance of meeting somewhere near Bristol and collecting the wheels and then similar to pick...
Do you mean you want some winter wheels to keep your refurbed 172 ones mint, or you just need some whilst your's are getting refurbed?
If the former, then don't bother, get them refurbed and whack them back on!
If the latter, then the valver wheels would be find as a temporary measure AFAIK...
Right, I've currently got a standard exhaust system with a custom 182-style backbox (passenger-side mounted backbox feeding 2 exit pipes, 182-style).
I ideally want to keep the backbox but upgrade the cat-back to release any small amounts of power there are to be had... is there any point...
