I wouldn't bother about the hour's drive, hardly a deciding factor for the 'right' wheels.
If in identical condition, go for the ones with tyres, as it'll mean you can avoid another big payout for 4 tyres = £200-odd. It'll get you through Xmas that way and you can replace them in the summer...
I'd assume power to weight makes the ph1 slightly quicker, but negliable enough that driver ability makes the difference. The Cup then ups the ante yet again.
I prefer the looks of rawness of the ph1, hence why I bought one. I'm still torn as to whether I should put the rear back to standard...
Welcome :)
Seems like a lot of hassle and money for a turbo'd 1.2. Yeah it'll be quite original, but that because people have opted for the better alternatives. You can buy a 172 engine and get it fitted for a similar, if not cheaper, price.
Still, all the best on your project. :)
I'm a shampoo fan as well, save the QD for when it's needed to actually Quick Detail...
Think I might give my car a claying on Monday, I clean it but always run out of time before finishing, so the finish never lasts long. 2 days of to give it some proper love!
If your mate is getting one, please tell him not to 'pimp' it... I have a feeling it could go horribly wrong.
Buy one with the Cup pack and be happy in the knowledge that he owns a rather good hot hatch. :)
I've only ever seen one Trophy in Exeter, but I know what you mean. As they get older, more and more give up and find their way onto the scrap heap.
As much as my baby annoys the hell outta me in so many different ways, I love her!
I wouldn't change my Ph1 for another 1*2, unless it was a Trophy for exclusivity.
If you're going to change, then go for something completely different to try a new style of car, such as 4WD or Rear...

Try those first mate, not a huge outlay. Carlton Garage can get them fitted for you in an hour. They've made quite a big different to the handling of mine (Pro's instead of Sport's) and are very good VFM.
I was considering adjustables /...
Looks good mate, the Eibach's don't lower it by a huge amount (Sports more than Pro's) but they're a good quality spring and will improve handling. Enjoy. :)
I was tempted by one when I was looking due to the rarity, but I prefer the wheels, colour and interior of mine over the exclusive.
In 5/10/15 years though, they'll probably be worth more when there's only a handful left and even fewer still mint.
I'd probably keep silver, just because they're the original wheels...
That's being sensible though, the blue 182 further up the queue does look rather nice on anthracites.
I was tempted by one of these before I got the 172, general consensus seemed to be that they're heavy cars and engines to get going, but once they're rolling then they're pretty rapid.
You know the word  I'll be seeking permission from Tucks' solicitor...
Cheers mate, not looking so mint anymore unfortunately.
The poor lad didn't even know you could bump start a car with a flat battery, it felt so good pushing it again after all this time!
Don't make me use the 'Y' word!
I like the term 'feminine curves' for my car, it keeps the missus happy driving it too.
He's off to Uni in September so I'd be really tempted to offer to buy it back off him for a few hundred quid and get it looking nice again, it had so much dust on it then...
Site looks excellent mate, the online payment will certainly add more custom.
Not sure whether the P&P (however unavoidable) and the discount if paying by cheques will be beneficial though, I think it would possibly put me off if I didn't already have dealings with you and know what excellent...
My old Fiesta Si, flat battery, covered in crap, in a local pub car park. :dapprove:
Should have never sold her to a 17 year old brother of a mate of mine... he's ruined her.
ProSpeed get a lot of excellent reviews on here mate, and it'll be custom made. The KTR I'm sure is a good system, but generic and 'out of the box'.
My centre section broke recently and I panicked... replaced it with another OEM Renault item. :(
Annoyed aint the word! Can't imagine what you must be like deciding what to wear in the morning...
As for the 225 rest, I'll give you a tenner... posted. ;)
