a word of caution..
ONLY fit an oil cooler IF you are running a higher temp than normal.. otherwise you can cause premature wear to the internals of the engine.
If the oil cooler makes the water temps lower than normal (Not sure if thats what ya meant Nick m8 ??) .. then you NEED an oil...

the LOP would have illuminated (Low oil pres)
would love to see images of the internals though...

yes, its certainly possible.
the clio 2 was apparantly designed with this in mind. they even bent the anti-roll bar to clear the drive shaft.
this is next years project.. seriously... it doesnt look like too much work..
fit RX4 gearbox with 172 internals..
remove fuel...
easy for me..

there is a limeted amount if things that will cause the problem.
coolant temp sensor... all the appropriate readings are in the reno tech database.
air temp sensor.. same again..
vapour lock....
I really do think the problems are vapour related m8.

The handbook is fairly generic.. best to go off what the specific advice is.
the difference between the standards are fairly self explanatory I think ?.. ie, the A3 is a higher specification than the A1.
