Welcome :)
Despite the power, they're very easy cars to drive normally. All the power's up in the top of the revs so just change gear later and later as you grow in confidence.
To be fair I can understand that from a retailer point of view. It's as close to JIT replenishment as they can get, which keeps costs and potential waste as low as possible.
I would've thought they would hold a little bit of stock though, especially of common problem areas.
Did you light those tealights for the photo aaron!?!
The WLT is really good Laingo, can't go wrong with it for the price it's currently at. I'm looking to do the same thing when I move, but couldn't figure out anyway of putting the wires into the wall and still being able to change them if...
Yeah, Wonder Wheels is about as strong as it gets, burns your fingers to buggery... the pastry baster thing they pass off as a brush with it is rubbish though.
Not sure if the exclusive one is different to the normal Ph1 wheel but it's a common problem mate, as they used a soft leather to aid grip, but wears poorly.
Not really worth paying to replace tbh, mint ones will be asking way too money.
Do you not want a loan because you don't feel you can afford the monthly repayments, or because you just don't want to get into debt?
If your heart is set on the 255, then I'd imagine the loan will be circa £4k/5k which, as long as the monthly repayments don't cripple you, isn't a huge amount...
I'm thinking the same Fubar, but at the moment I think I'd rather have the extra money. Once I've bought a house and sorted a mortgage I may see if my funds will stretch to a small loan and get a 225...
For the money nothing is better than the Ph1 172 IMHO.
That would be cool Thomss, I'll get together a better collection and get them over to you!
As I say, it was only a half an hour mess around this morning, with the main purpose being that a friend of mine is doing a Film MA at Aber Uni and he's going to make a Top Gear style film on the car, so...
Quick detailer will come with the clay if you buy the Meguiars clay from halfords mate. It's basically what you spray onto the paintwork as you're claying to keep it lubed up and ensure that the clay doesn't stick to the paint, but runs across it smoothly.
Buy some clay and quick detailer and set to work on it with this after washing, this should make it feel glass smooth again.
You can then polish and wax it after. :)
Lol, I thought I'd make the 'Ford' bit obvious!
I just need rid of them really as my parents are landscaping the front of their house, and have knocked down an old shed that I was storing them in. Postage is the main issue, but I'd probably take £40/50 for them, so maybe £90/100 posted.
At no point does Renault market the 172 as bhp. It is also called the 172 in France, where they measure power as ps, and they would not bother renaming it for the UK market as the '169'...
I'd say the first step is always lower it. This completely transforms the appearance and ensures that any modifications that follow won't end up looking silly (ie different wheels will look weird on the car if it's still on stilts).
