Money no object, what would you buy for your Clio ??

Yup. It's only on it's 'learner' engine at the moment - 500bhp for the proper one.

PH1 Instrument Cluster wiring the same as PH2 172?

Wiring, I can confirm, is different. I have a set of Ph2 dials in front of me at this very moment in bits!

Kiss your car goodbye then. Insurers' own bodyshops love to charge way beyond the edge of reason.

The 'What MPG Do You Get?' Thread

Struggling to get 30mpg, half the time I'm at 25mpg. That said though my commute to and from work is very short - the engine doesn't have time to get fully warmed up in the mornings.

    Michelin pilot sport 3

I'm sorry, but T1Rs are absolutely pants in the wet, so it's still hardly a surprise. They're 'OK' in the dry though.

    Racing simulators

I think the simulation nirvana lies somewhere between AC and LFS - Bang on physics with lots of feel coupled with cars that are actually licensed rather than subtly modified so the devs don't get sued. And real tracks. Need real tracks.

    Racing simulators

See the existing Sim Racing thread; http://www.cliosport.net/threads/sim-racing-driving.743588/ IMO Live for Speed is the most realistic in terms of physics. Looks turd though.

    Dirtiest car competition - 2014

It's hugely upsetting that I've not washed my car since the end of summer and it still looks far cleaner than anything in this thread.

    Ferrari V8 engined Elise/Exige

I don't know whether to be happy that an Elise is going to get a decent engine or sad knowing that a 355 had to die to make it.

Do you ever get comments on your car?

Bottom right corner of each post. @Knuckles

    wheel spin

It's not. If you can give it full throttle in 3rd, 4th or 5th, in the power band, and it doesn't slip, it's not the clutch.

    wheel spin

Repeated and excessive heavy application of pressure with the right foot on the accelerator pedal. + Tyres which are excellent locators of roadside furrows + A road surface which has been coated in a mixture of oil, diesel, grease, mud, dirt and McDonalds chip fat giving a coating which yields...

    Michelin pilot sport 3

Sorry to bump, but I have just bought the right set of tyres, right? Because I just paid £200 which is way less than the prices quoted here were a month ago...

Bitches start dripping as soon as they see it.

[Dec 13, 2014] Plymouth Mini Karting Meet (Plymouth Karting)

The Dartmoor meet was organised by a different club who aren't allowed to advertise their meets on here. As far as I know it's still going ahead.

Just came to change the bulb on my 172 cup and.....

This is what reflectors look like; and this is what projectors are like; Personally, unless you actually want to have HIDs (although I don't suppose that's the case with it being a track car), I'd just put the bulbs in.

Yes, but if the car is alongside then it is too late to claim that the car driver should have seen it. The door was opened into the side of the OP's car, not the OP's car driving into an opening door.

    Devastated

Depending on how good the CCTV is it may well be alright. If they can show that the door didn't start opening until the front of his car is level with it, then it can't be his fault. Furthermore it could well show that he wasn't speeding at all. Of course if it shoots 0.3fps then it's no good...

Just came to change the bulb on my 172 cup and.....

The xenon units are from a 'normal' 172/182. They are a straight swap, but relatively hard to find (and can't be posted, as they have fragile parts which ALWAYS break in the post). If you can find a set local then by all means go ahead, but it may be better to just remove the HIDs and fit a...

W5W/501 for the sidelights, R5W for the numberplate light.

    Along those lines. 625bhp/tonne anyone?

Money no object, what would you buy for your Clio ??

Pretty much on the border but yeah, Castle hillclimb. I will add that's just the 'starter edition' - Neil's building a 500bhp lump for next year. You won't get much faster in a clio, 500bhp in a FWD car equates to some interesting handling traits so much better to go 4WD and have a much more...

    Looking at buying a 172 CUP - 1 question

Does the serv light stay on whilst driving? Has it got anything else on? It's worth plugging into an OBDII reader if you've got one, or if someone local has one, to confirm that it's nothing else. But it sounds like someone's bodged the airbag light off.

    Looking at buying a 172 CUP - 1 question

The two are connected, yes. The SERV light isn't because a service is due, it is because something is wrong with the car, but it is not so urgent that you must immediately stop. It can be linked to various things, it is usually accompanied with another warning light on the dash, or an oil low...
