I can't find it on their website, but it's on their ebay shop. Streamlines carbon is of a lot better quality and manufacture being pre preg and not simply wet layed, but read there website and it describes it much better.
It's £130 +/- I think on there ebay site so it's still cheaper than the...
Bug juice? Do you mean dead flies stuck to the windscreen/ bonnet kind of think?
Mine normally comes off with a good wash, if not try some clay bar or maybe AutoGlym Tar Remover.
Check out the car detailing section
Have 2 cracked rear springs and 1 of the fronts looks like it'll be giving up soon on our Mk2 Ph1 1.6 Rsi.
We don't want to go down the route of lowering springs but want something a little better than standard springs. Other than the weight difference, is there any reason why the 172 springs...
Does it have a rev counter and rev limiter?
Get a good run onto the motorway and just hold it in 3rd till you hit the windscreen when the valves start bouncing. lol
You should just need to give Renault the Reg number of the car they are fitted to and it should give them an exploded diagram of which ever area you're after. They're just being lazy!
I bought mine 2nd hand so didn't pay full price.
Give Compbrake a call and if they give you a quote post it up as I'm sure others would be interested. Compbrake - 01772 696700
don't see why not, people spray carbon bonnets and panels. You just need to prep it like anything else by taking it right back to get a good key, then priming, painting and lacquering.
But I think being colour coded in a position as that would really highlight with plenty of stone chips
Bic, to be honest your current carbon splitter is cheaper than the standard Renault part so for me personnally the cost isn't the problem. But I'm sure the masses would appreciate a cheaper option.
Sorry for my stupidity, but what would the GRP and e-glass items look like? I think a nice...
I've had no problems with my Compbrake topmounts, turn in and feedback is definitely improved over standard with cup packs.
A tiny bit more bumpier but no more noticeable than when changing to Eibach springs
They used similar airboxes on loads of the older Renaults. Here's a link to a K&N panel filter for the V6 Espace and Ph1 172 airbox, but it says it also fits a load more...
I thought the K-Tec splitter was all carbon, not overlay! I know the streamline stuff is properly made but worried it might be a bit brittle. At least with a plastic one it'll bend and flex a little on gentle knocks and bumps. A OE plastic one would probably be the safest bet but when it's much...
Just phoned a local dealership, £154.99 which includes VAT. OUCH. Cup spoiler pack only cost me an additional £175 when I bought the car knew.
Carbon fibre is looking like a winner now, as long as it's not much weaker than the standard plastic
Would consider a plastic one again but I'd imagine Renault would be quite pricey. Might take a look at the Pug one though. Cheers
Carbon ones appear to be a bit more durable than I expected
I want to now how strong these generally are? How well do they cope with catching on the odd grass verge or curb stone?
I drive around building sites all morning and occassionally catch my standard cup splitter, especially on the more bumpier sites. And it seems to have happened more often...
Looking at the pictures of the K-tec one for the 1.4/1.6, it won't fit a standard system as it has a 3 bolt clamp instead of the 2 bolt clamp design with the little slip on peice, so come MOT time and cat needed, it'd be no good.
Maybe I'll try and get in touch with them and see what they suggest
didn't you all feel a little cheated when Renault didn't give you a small refund or money off for buying RB???
The only way they look good is with white wheels and looking like they are ready for the track
Liquid Yellow is so rare, I think something like only 70ish in the world for the 182, and it looks 10x better then any flat colour! But it was a £1200 option, that is a right pain should you ever need to respray a panel. If it hadn't have been for the mass produced R26 and R27 it would have a...
Dads got a Mk2 Ph1 Rsi 1.6 16v K4M engine.
We now need new manifold, cat or decat and possibly a mid section. Renault want £500+ just for the manifold so it's going to work out cheaper to buy aftermarket, I know they make them as I've seen people on here with them, I just can't find anywhere...
So in theory for a full detail of wash, then clay, SRP, followed by the carlack and then the 476 wax?
For most intermediate washes I wash, QD spray, then top up with 476 wax?
Agree with your comment BIFCAIDS. But I'm really suprised at how cheap JD can get a full set up for, thats a result!!!
If thats the case, and if you can get an adjustable set cheaper than a non adjustable set like I got from Compbrake, then it might be worth gettin them as tou can always sell...
If you go for the Compbrake mounts, this is the order there fitted from top to bottom:
Topmount lock ring
Rubber Washer
Chassic Turret
Rubber O-ring
Rubber Washer
Suspension strut nut
Main top mount
10 - 15mm spacer/ collar
Spring Hat
Spring
So does the Carlack completely replace using Ag SRP / EGP combination? Does it act as a polish / cleanser and sealant all in one?
I'm already using the 476 and highly recommend it, but it would be easy applying one coat of Carlack instead of SRP then multiple layers of EGP
Having the steering wheel off centre after having the tracking dobe does happen, it just means that the steering wheel has to be taken off and re-centred.
With it steering dead straight, can you get the same amount of turns from lock to lock?
