Looking at it from a different perspective, are you completely sure the dent/scratches werent there before?. After my car had been polished and waxed, I noticed some small dents/scratches that I hadnt seen before, highlighted by the high reflection of the paintwork once waxed etc.
I would...
Will the engine be based on the current F4R used in the 172/182 or is it a new unit?
Glad to hear its got six gears.... a really tight nit 6 spd box would be lovely in the 182 imho....works brilliantly in the CooperS....
It looks off to me, but Im sure it will grow on me....
Glad I read this one, never even gave it a thought. Ive found a mahoosive crack at the top of my windscreen. Best remember to specify the UV jobbie when I get it replaced!!
They are a b**ch. Has been soooo much easier to shift flies since I waxed it though. Dont seem to be stuck on so hard....
Mer polish gets them off no probs. Other than that, I use a sponge that has a soft cotton mesh around it - and a fair amount of elbow grease!!
Wheres ed when you need him??! Hes into his diesels, and will tell you about the companys that deal with diesel Clios. There is no better mod for a diesel than a chip/re-map imho..... Itll cost you about £500 I reckon, but youll get a massive increase in performance for that....
Super chips do...
The torque is the same iirc, but MUCH lower down. Peak torque on the 182s is at 5000 ish rpm and its at about 2000 rpm on th Dci. It will be a nippy little motor once up and running!! torque is 200Nm btw...
Being a diesel, a simple re-map will probably see you a nice increase in torque and bhp...
Iceburg Silver is a fantastic colour. Always looks clean, shows off the lines of the 172 better than black or blue. Looks loads better than any other silver. It is popular, but for good reason!!!
Just because the other colours are rarer it doesnt make them any better. For example, there are...
Fair enough. But the guy who posted the topic was questioning the outcome himself, was he not??
All Im trying to do is rationalise in simple terms how the Punto (on papaer a slower car) could have overcome the 182. Im not dissing the guy, the car itself or anything else. He came on here...
Im not getting into the handling debate, becuase it entirely subjective and is very difficult to quantify. Evo tell us that the 182 is one of the best handling front wheel drive cars to date (apart from the Williams/teg before anyone jumps on their high horse). So we believe it. But is a 182 in...
Hmm... I would imagine your car to handle quite well on coilovers.... It has similar power to the 182, has more torque and is lighter - cant see why your so surprised at the outcome.!!
All I can say is that the 182 driver was not realeasing the cars full potential through the corners. Go...
No chance mate. My gfs mums cooper is a rattling, whining, back-to-garage-three-times-in-a-month, cretinous heap of sh*te, filled with fisher price plastic unashamedly passed off as brushed aluminium. And its supposed to be retro. My arse. Lovely drive , but different league in terms of build...
Never heard it in my 172. I did the top speed run once, but Im never doing it again. Cant say I felt comfortable, and neither did the car. A bit hairy to say the least!!
Connect the negative side (black -) of the inverter input to ground (bare metal!!) and run a cable from the positive terminal of the battery to the positive (red +) side of the inverter input. Put a fuse carrier as close to the battery with a suitablt rated fuse. The inverter should have a...
