lol.... first thing that struck me. Sounds like the work experience kid at that magazine was given the 182 Cup assignment. The gear change isnt that bad, but slick it aint!! I think my Mums Scenics gearchange has a shorter throw!!
Glad to hear no-one was hurt and your cars not too badly bust.
Nice post mate. A reminder to everyone that with the impending 4 months of sh*tty weather ahead of us, we need to concentrate on our driving (braking distances, visibility etc) and be more mindful of the conditions.
lol..@ Neil. We havent had a thread like this since Driving Tales closed. Come to think of it isnt this a link to a Driving Tale?? Watch out, theyll slap a chub on it!! lol
Argue away!!
Erm.... I think you deserved what you got!! Posting a thread saying you were stuck to his bumper in the wet and then proclaiming the Cup to be a future classic (in the domain of the Mk1 Golf Gti!) is a bit daft and bound to earn you a bit of stick!!
Mine does it something terrible. Its got worse as my tyre tread has decreased. And the TC cant seem to react quick enough to catch it. It feels like the engine is trying to make its way through the dash board.
Same thing on my 172. Just take it back and theyll swap the runners. Having said that my seat still isnt right. Its alright until someone gets in the back- you think the seat has click back into place when it hasnt. Next time you brake sharply your passenger slide forward in the seat!! Not nice!!
The Fiesta? *snigger*
None of them. The current model is top of the Class now (and can hold its own in the next class up!) and Ive no doubt the new one will be in a couple of years time. And if Renault are still running the Friends and Family scheme, who knows I might get one!!
lol... alright Mitchy lad, calm down!! We all made up tales about top speeds and the like when we were younger......... (didnt we?!!).
Its not impossible that the guys speedo showed 135...... but actually believing that its correct is a lot naieve (sp?). My Astra 1.4 used to do 125 flat out on...
I live in Staffordshire. The peaks are only 20 minutes away from me. The 182 will be making regular trips up there as my current 172 does now. Im not Northern and Im not Southern. Im a Midlander (which is probably considered northern by the Southeners - there is life beyond the Watford gap you...
Had the same story as Mark about the trade in, they were more than fair with that. I waited from the start of August to the end of November, but that was Renaults fault not NCD.com.
I had a 1.4 astra as a stop-gap after writing off my 306 and I paid £500 for it. They gave me £700 for it, and...
I got my 172 from them. Had no problems in the end, but they werent too keen to keep me up to date with what was happening. I had to wait a long time for my car, but that was Renaults fault, not theirs......
Basically you pay for what you get. I got my car dirt cheap, but the customer service...
MOD IT!!! Chip, filter, zaust, de-cat, manifold, headwork maybe. Its not that much cash, and if your making a bit on your house (be quick cos the prices are falling!!) than you wont miss a grand. Its f**k all in a five year plan mate!!!
As above, all three. All highly tuned. And Id have them taken to every Cliosport track day for everyone to have a thrash. Cos Im nice like that. Suppose I should buy a ticket first though!!
My 172 has a few, but like somebody else said above they are temperemental. I regularly have to put my fingers in the windscreen vent and give it a tug towards me to stop it squeaking. I wasnt expecting merc levels of build and I certainly didnt get it!!!
lol.... only read this page, and that was enough!1
Of course Clio Cups are in demand. The were cheap new, a real bargain - untouchable in the fabled bang-for-bucks stakes. Knock a couple of grand off for a 6 month old one, and you have the bargain of the year/decade !(imho)
PS ...Ive been...
True. Book price is nine grand, but it stands for absolutely f**k all. The book price for the Cup is cheaper still, but they are fetching far more on auto trader as are the 172s......
£8800??? Thats f**king ridiculous. Either the seller is daft, of theres something else wrong with it!!
Still, fair play to you. Youll love it - everyon needs a bit of VaVaVoom in their life!!!
