Did he? Bugger, must have missed that.
As for the collectors market, numbers produced plays a smaller part than you realise. There were less 16vs made by Renault than there were Will 1,2, and 3s..... Making the Williams common by comparison. So why isnt the 16v a collectors item?
Im perfectly chilled mate. Like I said, I couldnt give a to$$!! I just like getting a reaction out of people, and Williams owners seem to be the easiest lot to wind up. Just becuase somebody dared to say that a Williams might not be a priceless collectors item all the Williams owners are up on...
Rightly so too. Nice to see Renault do have some morals!! lol!!
On the 182 vs 182 Cup debate, 20 kgs is less than the weight of a full tank of fuel. In fact, if a 182 Cup has a full tank, and a 182 is in the Red, the 182 will be the lighter of the two!!
And if 20 kg loses 0.2 seconds off a...
Aye the skirts are letting the side down at the minute. lol :-p
Will 172 skirts fit ? They tie in with the whole subtle theme youve got going on....

I certainly dont think a Williams with 80k is worth anymore than £3k but there you go.
So you agree with me then. The Williams above is not worth 5.5k
And who mentioned 172s? I certainly didnt. I couldnt give a rats ass how much my 172 may or may not be worth. I can afford to lose the money...
Theres a guy on williamsclio.co.uk whos been trying to sell his Willy 1 for ages and thats a minter.
The car on the link above is a mint, low mile standard Williams 3 and its up for £3495.
Ive no doubt that there are Williams out there that are worth 5.5k and above. I was talking about this car in particular, and after looking at what other Williams have gone for on Auto trader, this car is not worth 5.5k.
And as for supply and demand, the demand for a 10 year old french hatch...
I pay that for a MINT 1 but not a 3.
No matter how mint you keep it, it will lose money as you put more miles on it. The only way to keep the price is to hardly increase the miles. Once its gone over the mysterious 100k mark, it will be worth much less. The 100k mark is some kind of...
I get a lovely bit of induction noise when I boot my 172, and thats standard. One of my work colleagues commented "You can tell its not an ordinary Clio when you put your foot down. Sounds good"
Its never going to win any prizes, but I think the standard car sounds OK. Not a patch on my TR6...
Thank f**k!!!
The one extra I wouldnt be without is Climate Control. I love not having to fiddle with heater dials all the time. Just a quick press of a button and hey presto.
Youll need a volunteer. Mine was the rear headrest.
Rattles sorted so far;
Trim above glovebox - removed and put double sided tape on inside to hol securely in place - success
Ashtray - Removed and lightly greased, filled any space with sound deadening - success.
Upper dash, heater vent...
Nope, which in this instance will probably work in your favour. None of the companies I rang (and I rang a lot!!) could touch the online companies.
One guy I spoke to said that online insurance companies dont "play fair". Doent bother me. My insurance for my 172 was £650 this year, 24 , 2...
Go and get a few quotes, see what comes up. You might be surprised. There are some young lads on here who drive 172s/182s who pay a lot for insurance, but not silly money...
Reasonable indeed!!
I just think you ought to go onto other forums and check the problems that other cars have. I think youll find that ultimately Renault are no worse than Peugeot, Citroen, Ford, Vauxhall, Fiat in terms of reliability or levels of service/quality of dealerships.
I got my 172 from NCD. Not the best to be honest. I had to do all the chasing regards to delivery etc. But it was cheap. Which is all that really matters. Mine was pre-reg and I got the V5 about a month after it was delivered. Pre-reg has little or no bearing on re-sale value either.
Utter b****cks. If my mates 1.4 RT is better built and more reliable than my 172 Ill blow your bugle. The real problem is, todays Renaults are cursed by the reputation older models like yours got all those years ago!!! FACT!!
