I get a lovely bit of induction noise when I boot my 172, and thats standard. One of my work colleagues commented "You can tell its not an ordinary Clio when you put your foot down. Sounds good" Its never going to win any prizes, but I think the standard car sounds OK. Not a patch on my TR6...

Reasonable indeed!! I just think you ought to go onto other forums and check the problems that other cars have. I think youll find that ultimately Renault are no worse than Peugeot, Citroen, Ford, Vauxhall, Fiat in terms of reliability or levels of service/quality of dealerships.

I got my 172 from NCD. Not the best to be honest. I had to do all the chasing regards to delivery etc. But it was cheap. Which is all that really matters. Mine was pre-reg and I got the V5 about a month after it was delivered. Pre-reg has little or no bearing on re-sale value either.
