The dealer is just trying it on. They offered me £9,700 p/ex for my 53 172 with 10,000 miles, against a 182 at list price with Cup packs thrown in and 0% finance. Top book is £9800. Or at least it was a few weeks ago.
Ive never driven one, but Id heard the outgoing fiesta model handled very well so would expect a new hot version to be pretty good. Its Just that normally Autocar think the sun shines out of Minis arse...lol

Limiter caught you by surprise? The shift light is on for quite a while when your at the top of fourth gear.......... Sounds like it was cold, so limiter would have been at about 6250 rpm.... about 108 mph. Not completely sure becuase I think the gear ratios are slighlty different in the 182 to...
lol.... I went away and learnt to heel and toe after reading this thread a few months back..... the difference (when I get it right - Im still practising!!) is unbeleivable..... My Clio, which is skittish at the best of times is so much more stable and controllable on the approach to...
13" 0r 14"..... somebody on here will be able to tell you, but it may depend on what model it is...
Oh, and dont be tight - buy her a set of Alloys!!:D
No need to apologise for having a Saxo lol.... the VTS is a well respected car, and only the most stubborn amongst us would not admit that its a cracking little motor. Its just the image..... What mods have you done to it btw?
I dont recall ever seeing a 182 1/4 mile, but I would expect...
Ive.. er... seen this game... the Clio in it isnt very true to life - I hope the guys at THQ can make a better job of it.
And you need to make it a 182!! (Twin exhausts etc)
Never heard that before... your not touching any of the pedals at all are you? Its fine on my 172.... take it back to the stealers... just dont expevt them to fix it!!lol!!
Import then. Doesnt really make any difference. The only reason I can see that imports are cheaper is that people know that the owner payed less for the car in the first place!! Its the same car, from the same factory!!
Enjoy!!
The 172 has an exhaust note? Mine hasnt. All I can hear is induction!!
I know that they also changed the standard Cat on the 182 for a more free-flowing one. This will also have helped.
Im no expert, but surely going 4-3-2-1 (or whatever the manifold does) then back to 2 will not be as...
Im not sure, but I think you might be right. I think the whole idea behind the 182 having a twin exhaust in the first place was more about a Renaultsport family image than anything else.
Looking at the above design (from a laymans point of view), although I cant actually see the...
1. Renaultsport Clio 182
2. Renault Clio Williams
3. Peugeot 205 Gti (only driven the 1.6, but that was superb!!)
4. Peugeot 306 Gti-6 Rallye
5. Peugeot 106 Gti
This si in no particular order, and based purely on my own experiences ie cars that Ive driven. I must get round to getting...
I dont see Evo as the bible. If Im totally honest, I just like it for the pictures.
I can understand the fact that people may think that Evo were somehow bribed by Renault, but I cant believe that Renault have bribed every other magazine that gives the Clio a good review..... or maybe...
Er... yes. the list says Ducati 999 - 5th gear. Then the legend at the bottom says "5th gear - Needell" No mention of most of the times being done by him.
Exactly right. I can answer a lot of the questions on this forum because I have a good memory, and have have seen the answers elsewhere. A bit of it comes from experience (having and old banger for a first car, having to work on it in some form every weekend just to keep it on the road lol)
Im...
I personally dont see the point in the 1.6 Clio. Just seems to be a bit of a stop gap between the 1.2/1.4s and the Renaultsport models. Its not even a great deal cheaper than the 182s. Its neither fast and nor frugal.
Id be willing to bet that once up and running the DCi 100 is as quick if...
lol... nearly said if you can live with the image.... A guy at work has one though.... changed my mind about Mondeos for good. Cracking cars really. Diesel are good also - had a 130 bhp one as a hire car.. pretty nippy.
