I've just had a look at the silicone hose from K-Tec:

and it says it won't fit the round airbox from the Mk2 Ph1 172 ( answered my question above) why is this, as the round airbox fitted onto my OE 182 intake hose when I trial fitted it...
What year clio do I have to get the airfilter for? Mk2 Ph1 clio 172 or Mk2 Ph2 172? or are they both the same, I can't find any pics. I haven't found the horn yet but I'll look into taking out the acoustic valve one afternoon this week. I'll drop into Renault tonight and try and get the intake...

But why is the ITG Maxogen supposed to be so good. It has no direct air feed, other than a feed from behind the headlight. It doesn't heat soak from the engine, but then neither does plastic. I can't work out why it is so much better than fitting a panel filter in the standard airbox and...

What are you thinking of getting polished? I quite like the idea of polishing the inlet pipes that can be seen through the engine cover, then added a carbon fibre engine cover. It's been done before and looks quite good imo. What colour hoses aswell, I can't imagine anything other than black...

I pulled out behind a blue 182 06 reg with aftermarket exhuast going through Braintree about 10pm last night (10th April).
I was in the Liquid Yellow 182
The ph2 mk2 1.6 16v and top dci both had rear discs added when they changed things like the wheels (15" 172 copies) silver seat belts etc, think ot was 04 - 54 that they changed. Not sure on the mk3's though

I've got the anthracite wheels on my LY, painted the front calipers silver to stand out behind the wheels and was going to do the rears to match, then paint the hub centres in the gold. Now I'm thinking of doing it...

Saw a car locally that had done this with a light/ faint gold and it looked quite good. considering doing it myself as it's bound to look better than the standard dirty/ rusty look

There's another LY 182 as well as mine around Braintree/ Chelmsford area. It's only hour and a halfs drive from you. But I'm occassionally in Peterborough (Northborough) seeing family but not sure when I'm next up that way
Seriously though, I seem to rememer them costing no more than £10, plus it's something they generally have in stock so no waiting for it. Also if you're selling the car, it'll breath a bit free'r with a new filter instead of an old used one? just a thought
If I looked at those pictures right, the system has 3 silencers? and this system is slightly louder than your original thoughts. Any ideas of the overal weight compared to the std system?

I did the Palmer Sport day at Bedford back in Autumn 2006 with it raining all day. In fully wet conditions I was 3secs quicker in the 911 than the mk2 clio cup car. I did manage to set the fastest lap of the day in the caterham though :cool:
