No to Ronal Turbo's!!!!!! Unless it's super clean or had bits smoothed/ removed they look out of place.
Turbines polished up from the original 16v clio suit the car better than anything.
Nope not me matey. I have 172 cup with standard turinis 52 plate minter if i do say so myself. Good mechanics at Darlingtons shame the front of house ie service department have there heads stuck up there arse's
I can't say much for most of them up there, especially people out front!!!!
I...
I have absolutely no idea where that is:o I know where thurrock is kind of.
I should come along to a lot more of the meets but have been really lame and never make it. I'm just lazy putting it simply
I went up against an 02 reg golf anniversary edition when I first got my 182 and just managed to pull away from him. A standard GTi shouldn't be too much trouble once your hitting high revs
I can never remember where that is. I know a little of Harlow as my dad is a mechanic for Darlingtons Renault Dealership.
Do you have a Ph-1 172 or have the sportlines fitted?
I changed my rears dampers the other week and the spring didn't pop out. Would I have had to lever down the lower arm more to have loosened the spring?
And I was told the other week that you wouldn't need spring clamps to change them?
Not sure to be honest, theres quite a range in price from what I read on here and car pricing guides etc. If I did sell it I probably wouldn't be putting it up for sale till April anyway.
Any guess's?
It's an Oct 2005 55 reg, both cup packs, I.D. Liquid Yellow. Just passed 24000 miles and...
Yeah but there aren't any in Essex for a while I don't think
Next meet I'll be at will be the Southern Rolling Road one IIRC
Edit: If it helps, I could wander up to Braintree of a weekday evening
When and where is the Southern rolling road?
Where abouts are you? I work in Colchester and...
Do you live in Essex??? If so I'd like to ask two favours:
- I'm contemplating selling my 182 to save some money and considering a Ph-1 172 as a replacement so I can still enjoy driving. Is there anyone in Essex with one of these that I could have a look round and get some idea of what there...
Ideally I'd like to lower mine by 20mm to give it a better look if I don't get rid if the car, certainly no more though as it'l start to look OTT.
Regarding the Eibach Sportlines, will they still improve handling over the cup Suspension pack.
How much firmer will it be, I don't want to be...
If the 5 GT Turbo has been played with ie more boost, it will eat a 1*2 to 120mph.
180bhp isn't too hard to get with some choice sensible mods. I saw one pushing 220bhp post 12.18s 1/4m at santa pod with plenty of reliability
I had a standard 5 GT Turbo with Exhuast/ filter/ Intercooler (std Turbo and Boost though) and sat pretty much level against 106 GTi's/ VTS's but lost against a few 172's and cups.
My 182 feels considerably quicker than my 5 at any speed and general I can pull ahead of the local 106 GTi's/...
i like 182 cup's, i just feel that they didnt go far enough to make is a 'cup' tho. should have done away with the aircon like on the 172 cups.
That's true I'd agree with that.
I remember reading the 172 Cup brochure when it first came out and there were options for:
- 6 or 10 point roll...
How does this some it up?:
Breaking it down, the cup was just a no thrills 182, an awful lot of car for not a lot of money. that is never a bad thing!
the FF's were for us people that like our creature comforts
and the trophy's were the track ready 182?
anyone's welcome to refine this list
I do not wish to be sarcastic in any way, and I'm certainly not putting the Trophy down.
But I asked if they thought a 182 with the cup options would be a pointless car?
I couldn't tell the difference between the two cars, I'm not saying there isn't a difference becasue there clearly is. my...
The Trophy was set up by reno specifically for English B roads!
Exactly! and I couldn't see a significant difference on the test drive and I don't think most people would. I don't claim to be an exceptional driver, but I do enjoy a good thrash. Maybe if I thrashed it within a inch of its life...
I would hardly call a 182 pointless! And more to the point unless your a track day specialist, the average driver that likes to throw there clio round bends would not benfit from the trophy set-up. I couldn't noticably tell the difference so went for a 182 FF with cup options. Is this also a...
trying to find someone in the Essex area with one still. I looked on AT but none of them were within a reasonable distance.
I guess heading along a few local meets might be a good start! :o
I've just cancelled my contract with them after being with them 6 years.
Wasn't until I phoned and asked for my PAC code that they phoned me back with some real offers but it was too late buy then. I'd already signed a new contract with o2
