Tell me about it. She's told me she doesn't want to be responcible for me selling it, it has to be my decision. But if she didn't want to buy a house I'd keep it till it died!
Being an Area Rep, do you know anyone in Essex or near by with a Ph-1 that would let me have a look over it
I don't want to, but been thinking about it now for a month or so. I will really regret it, as much as when I sold my 5 GT Turbo, but needs must.
Selling it would free up a lot of money to put towards a house with the GF, and I'm hoping a Ph-1 will not feel 100 miles different so I'll still be...
Thanks for the responses. I'm a little worried about them not handling as well as I push mine quite hard and I'm not the smoothest of drivers.
Just got to try and find one now to have a look over
I am considering getting a Ph-1 172 but don't know much about them. Can anyone help with the following questions:
- Does it have ABS, I'm guessing it does
- Does it have ESP, if so can it be switched off as on my 182
- Are the brakes the same as my 182
- how will it handle/ ride like compared...
Thanks for the advise, I've been given an apporx price of £49 each. Will def try RUK though and see how I get on.
Would it be worth replacing both sides at the same time or not worry about the drivers side until it breaks
I noticed my rear suspension on my 182 was making some unusual knocks and bangs over the weekend, and after inpsection found that the NSR damper was dripping with fluid from the seals letting go.
The car is only 2yrs old so I spoke to Renault and they won't replace it under warranty...
So Renault changed the Mk II Ph II from a 1.9 turbo to a 1.5 turbo?
I know they're French but they must of had a good reason for doing so. I still think best bet for performance and driveability would be to stay with the 1.5, and look into bigger intercooler and turbo, possible the DCi 100 set...
My apologies, I stand corrected.
I thought they scrapped the 1.9 engines when they introduced the Mk II. what happened to these engines then, why the change to 1.5ltr
the only 1.9 diesel engines were in the Mk I clio, and that was normally aspirated, no turbo, IC and all the other ancillaries req'd with forced induction
Your not going to get many people on the side of a diesel engine on a forum like this, me included, but I just don't think the engine...
it's the same old battle of performance vs economy. how much power do they have, isn't it 130bhp? but the engine would weigh a lot moren so you will have to uprate suspension and brakes etc
I would imagine it'd be a tight fit, as the 1.9 diesel engines look a lot bigger than a 2.0ltr petrol...
Coming out with comments like that on a forum where 90% are petrol heads owning Clio Sports is asking for abuse, be warned!
There are also lots of reasons why diesel engines are worse, but that's just gonna open a can of worms
Back to your original post though, what is your thinking of...
Ultraleggeras look a bit too delicate and skinny imo. Personnally I'd choose Turini's.
But if you like the design of the wheel then go for them, gives it that slightly different look from every other 1*2
52 Reg blue 172 cup fully loaded in the rear parked behind me in Xscape sno dome in milton keynes friday night. White speedlines and twin exit exhuast.
mine was the Liquid yellow 182 parked next to my mates golf GT TDI
A Mk2 golf 2.0 16v lightly modded couldn't stay with my standard 5 GT Turbo, and my 182 is quicker than my 5.
I'd say it can't be standard, had he stripped it out or anything like that
Re: East Anglian Xmas Meet/Meal/Drinks Sunday 16th December
Sorry for the late input.
I should be free on the 16th at some point, but can't gaurantee a time I'll be out as I have a lot planned with the girl friend. Set a time and place and I should be able to make it along at some point.
Both my GF and another friend have spotted a Liquid Yellow 182 around chelmsford/ Dunmow area both thinking it was me?
was seen this morning on the A130 going towards Dunmow from chelmsford direction.
Any takers?
I can't decide what would look nest on my LY; Liquid Yellow background with grey writing or Grey background with LY writing.
Will be doing mine soon I think
In my experience, I'd say it was more down to the driver.
I played with a local Trophy and was all over the back of him round the twisties on my private road. He certainly had no advantage driving a trophy
Unless it envolves a complete strip/ respray/ then rebuild I don't think I'd bother. I've seen liquid yellows when 1 panel has been resprayed and it never matches the rest.
I'd leave it silver, too many liquid yellows about as it is;)
