That wasnt a dig at the V mitch_, I maybe should have made it a little clearer. The car I was actually thinking of was the Boxter, something Ive looked at a few times but know would cost me silly money to run due to the miles I do. Plus it would have to be an S and they arent cheap.
I know...
Isnt it nice how the rest of us can post intelligently about this subject but for some reason Simon can only resort to petty put downs.
Sounds to me like you are trying to justify to yourself why you purchased a V6. Just enjoy the car, you chose it so must have wanted one.
I drive the...
What makes me laugh is that this thread ended earlier when those V6 owners who actually drive there cars and those 182 owners who also drive there cars came to exactly the same conclusion.
The V6 would require a much better driver to outperform a 182 on track. Unless it was somewhere like...
I love your blind faith in the car. lol
If it makes you feel better Simon yes, thats correct.
And yes the Clio is very understated and a shopping trolley. The V is ostentatious but still a shopping trolly underneath.

When I was buying a 306 GTi-6 2 of the test drives I was allowed to do what I wanted, one asked me to slow down, and another took me through the centre of Birmingham!!!!

How hard will they let you drive on a test drive? Id like to try one just so I can tell you all its as turd as I think it is, but Id really want to have the thing on 3 wheels if I can.
You would call it a turd no matter what you...

Thats obviously why they get so touchy. They should just admit they prefer looks over performance. ;) :p

Just noticed a typo in what I said.
Corrected: In reference to your question in the other thread Craig, Ive found on the road the Mk2 V6 is a lot harder to keep up with than it is on the track. The torque it has really shows then.
Darren, the Brands ones are here . And theres one following me at http://forum.cliosport.net/display_topic_threads.asp?ForumID=13&TopicID=158889&PagePosition=1Link
And theres one from Oulton Park here, http://www.perrylandsplants.co.uk/brandshatch/trophy.mpgLink

well said mike...i think that should end this thread now...
It should have ended with my comments seeing as I was right all along. ;)
As I said in a previous post. Only one V6 has been quicker than me on track and that was driven by someone who does track days for a living. ;)
The V requires a much better driver to be driven fast than a 182 does.
If you like I can post links to numerous videos of me on track days...
My 182 did it and they never fixed it.
When I collected the Trophy the sales guy locked it and commented on it, I told him to book it in for me. lol
Its still doing it now.

the 182 is no were near as quick as a mk2 v6 maybe on same par as mk1.....
Tell that to all the ones I passed at Oulton Park. :D
I reckon its going to look good when its finished. Provided they sort the fit of the kit out.
Unlike most kits on Clios this one looks like it suits the lines of the car. Most are too boxy for the rounded shape.
Good luck with it.

Ive never had the chance to drive a 172 Cup on track, but I have driven y0z2as Cup (when it was new and standard) over fairly long distances. Essex to home etc. y0z will vouch for how I drove it "wo wo, slow down". lol
Ive said this elsewhere on here, but for me the Trophy and Cup for more...
On an 02, had none Cup pack 182 alloys on it. Parked in the Tricorn House car park. I was going to flyer it on the off chance the owner was an attracive female, but decided Id better check first.
