I think Im going to have to take one for a test drive. Ive read three reviews of the 182 and they have all been completely different!! The one I read previos to this said that the new exhaust note was fantastic, and would make you wind your window down when you go under a bridge just to listen...
My missus has a 1.2 16v Dynamique, and I have to say its a hoot to drive. You have to absolutely cane it everwhere!! Very respectable performance for a 1.2 although my mates missus has a 1.2 Punto (not sure which model), and that is quicker off the mark than the Clio. We raced each other for...
After 2,500 happy 172 miles, the first fault has reared its ugly head. Put foot down a bit out of icy junction this morning, wheels spun followed by a big bang coming from lower/rear side of engine. It only banged once before the traction control cut in. But once was enough!!
Count me in!!!
Lumpy for me too. Sos my missus 1.2 16v though, and Im pretty sure that doesnt have wild cams in it, so who knows??
On the subject of accelerators, do any 172 owners notice a lag in between blipping the throttle (whilst in neutral) and the revs rising? Is this another feature of the fly by...
Mine are exactly the same. Like you say, only shows up under the evil glow of street lights!! Im pretty sure its down to the materials involved. Cant see it during the day though, so the only answer is to park it is far from street lights as possible!!
I dont much about these things ( im slowly learning!!), but maybe the car would perform better were the ECU coupled with some kind of (sealed) induction kit and a free flowing exhaust.???? Just a thought.
Your basically right in what you are saying. Impedance is resistance to current flow in an AC circuit. Thus lower the impedance value, the higher the current flow, hence a higher output power. Obviously your Amp has to be rated sufficiently to supply a 2 ohm load. You should also check the rated...
I have to say that there is a time lag (albeit a tiny one) in between my blipping the throttle and the engine revving. Is this a characteristic of drive by wire?
Mate, loads of people have bought imports, without problems. Two guys I work with have 172s bought from my local car supermarket and niether have had any problems. I bought a UK car through a broker as it worked out cheaper for me (got a far better deal with part exchange), but my local...

Dont know how much to read into this, but a couple of my friends who worked overseas came back and asked me what car I was driving.(they are not to up on cars btw) I said "Clio RenaultSport 172" one of my friends faces lit up and he said "Wow!! Is that a Clio Williams?". They had all heard of...
