I dont think the 182 exhaust (rear section at least) will fit on a 172 becuase of the revised floorplan of the 182. It has no spare wheel, see!!

After 2,500 happy 172 miles, the first fault has reared its ugly head. Put foot down a bit out of icy junction this morning, wheels spun followed by a big bang coming from lower/rear side of engine. It only banged once before the traction control cut in. But once was enough!! Count me in!!!

Mine are exactly the same. Like you say, only shows up under the evil glow of street lights!! Im pretty sure its down to the materials involved. Cant see it during the day though, so the only answer is to park it is far from street lights as possible!!
