Thought earliest Mk2 was 2001 Y?? Could be wrong. I think 70% of parts were changed between the mk1 and mk2. Suspension changes, changes to exhaust, airbox etc. Interior changes are most noticeable. Unfortunately, the Mk2 didnt get the colour Renaultsport logo on the seats or the white dials...

I would take a switched supply from say the dashboard illumination and use it to relay a supply direct from the battery. Also fit a switch in line with the illumination wire so you can turn the neons off when you have your lights on and you see the Police. If it were me, Id chuck the whole lot...

My Girlfriend has a 1.2 16v Dynamique and my mates wife has a 1.2 16v Punto. We have had loads of races between the two and the Punto is quicker in a straight line, but the Clio does claw the gap back if the straight is long enough!! The little clio wins in the handling stakes though...

The Punto is quicker than the 1.2 16v, that much I know for sure. Dont know about the rest, but I thought the Clio 1.2 was quicker than the Corsa. The Renault engine is in fact 1149cc, so is strictly speaking a 1.1. Not sure why they called it a 1.2 ....

I think it will sell. The RenaultSport brand is starting to mean something in th uk imho. A Renaultsport Clio 182 Turbo will suit me very nicely.
