Lol had exactley same with one of my exs. She had passed her test for a few years, not a bad driver but she took three attempts to get it of the mark. Was funny sitting in the passenger seat.
That was my two 1.2 16vs I had (Dynamique51reg/Extreme52reg) -40mm Apex springs. I have also got -40mm Apex springs for the 172, although these are obviously different. My mate has had G-max on his extreme, done 17k ang they are knackered. The Apex seem to be good quality.
Its a revision of the design, but one that they will only do if the customer makes a request or a complaint. I think it is quite a big job, but worth asking them about, did you buy it private or have you got a renault used warranty, as it may still be covered by renault.
Just been to work in a different store than usual. My mate who lives in this area has always told me that there is a driving school with a red 172. But i have always thought he was widing me up... Until today. Seen it, the schools called No Limits. lol. Not sure it would be the most easy car to...
Phil M, I dont have a MK1, but I had the squeking noise, It got steadily worse but started off when the engine was cold. Apparently there is a technical note for the cams and pulleys and pretensioners on the 172. Renault will replace these with the modified parts if you take it in. I assume that...
No pics at the moment, VivJ, keep meaning to borrow a camera.(Will try and sort this on Tues on my day off) The back end has two springs on the same as a the front. As CUPPY says they are springs alround, so no torsion bar to mess with, this was the design on older clios such as 16v and...
No its insurance so that in the event that the car is written off in the first 3yrs of ownership you will get retail price not its market value. Most insurances do this for the first yr. The Gap will pay the difference bewteen market value and you finance.
Ive got -40mm drop on Apex, doesnt rub on full lock:confused:, is a bit harsh on bumpy roads, but superb on smooth and looks the biz, is a bit of a comparimise though.
Yeah but by the time youve paid the price for the valet the delivary inspection at motorpoint you arent that far off the renault price. I have no regrets in getting a UK car even thought I know I paid a little more.
where did it happen mate??? Be careful wich dealership you use, Dont used Arnold Clark in Wigan, work is poor. Dutton James in St helens are superb, BRUN will agree. Judging by the pics your wing should be ok if its stayed together on the fiting points, the arch liner has broke as you can see...
My Dad has the same opinion as you Jim172CUP, but there is something about clios, unless you driven a vee then I suppose its impossible to comment. The new V6s look fantastic and in Black with the silver vents its just gonna look the buisness!!!! Like Kis says its about choice, if we all had the...
The new extreme is different from the old extreme. I dont think its part of the sports collection like the old extreme. Based on the expression as opposed to the dynamique.
Lol- ClioJohn-It used to really wind me up when i had an extreme!!!!! However, there cant be many who dont regret getting...
Yeah you get aircon as standard. Take it that 10k is from a renault dealer, thats a good price mate, arent you in NW??? Which dealer you getting it from??
If its an exculusive i will have a number 1-172 if im right. An 02reg would have had to sit in a showroom for a bit before it was regd. They are nice though. Wheels make to stand out fro, normal MK1 172s.
Thats really wierd. I though the same as you mate originally, but directline were the company that were more. I just presumed taht it was cause of tje lack of ABS, with it being a safety feature. Strange, as you say as the Cup cost less. Will be another of those unexplanable insurance myths.
They are a superb mod for the money. Ive transfered mine between all three clios Ive had and in two years none have needed to replace one. Not quite as silver as I have the older phillips ones. Gonna get the side ones for my new clear side repeaters.
like the blue or red, but black would be great. Its one of the most difficult decisions when buying a new car. Both the new clios I had took ages to decided and for one reason and another both times i ended up with a different colour to what id originally ordered!!!!
With the big flecks, it...
Agree forecort prices are not the be all and end all of pricing but I stand by the fact that 172 fetch slighty more when comparing identically sourced cars- That was the point of comparison. That comparing cups to "import" 172s is not a valid comaprison as they cost similar money in the first...
Cant agree with this really, comparing a uk 172 with a uk Cup on a renault forecort the 172 still achieves 1k-1.5k more. 02reg 172s are fetching 10k whereas 52reg Cups are at this money. The cup is not a limited edition and has sold more in the uk this year than the 172 so in someways the cup is...
I had this dilemma as to which one to get. It is a matter of taste, i went for a 172 casue i wanted the toys and have no regrets, likewise if I had chose a cup i wouldnt have been disappointed. The performance diff is negiable IMHO, I love the suede and Xenons. Coming from a lesser model I...
