Comparison with my brothers
There's no doubt the ph2 is more modern looking. But at 3K, you're more likely to get a decent ph1 than a ph2. And the ph1 is the better drive imo. (That's not owner bias, I sold a ph2 172 to get the ph1)
TBF Jay, by all accounts you don't do many miles? When you do 20-30k miles a yr, and several track days, I think you get a bit more picky/fussy/anal about the bits that are important to you.
(That's not a dig, just a genuine observation).
I do think it's a shame they cocked up the looks so...
The major bits that I found dissapointing in the 197 (lack of low down grunt and the crap steering) have been tweeked for the 200.
I went to Renault with the intention of buying a 197. Never been so dissapointed with a hot hatch, got the bits that I care about wrong (IMO).
I couldn't care...
Only happened since I started using my new laptop. When playing music (especially playlists) some tracks don't play correctly. One song finishes, then the next starts a minute or more into the song?
Re: iPhone "must have" apps?
It's good, but needs 3G signal to function well in my experience. And when you can watch the race using TVcatchup, seems a bit pointless now.
Makes my piss boil that you've been such a c**t, trying to sell a fucked car to members while lying through your teeth.
Makes me wet myself with laughter that you've been stupid enough to post the problems on the forums. The forum, that the people you're trying to sell it to, frequent. Epic...
Not really. To suggest one is much better, would suggest a clear difference in them. Having used them both on track, there isn't. Which suits you better is of course personal preference. But in terms of outright performance there's fack all in it.
I'd drive a minter beforehand to compare. It could be a dog, or it could be that people have gone for it as it's cheap without considering insurance and running costs. How cheap?
The carbon lorraines are not miles better. I'm running them now. Outright stopping power and fade, there's nothing in it. They make more noise than the ferodo, rattle and squeal. But they fit a bit easier. On balance, I'll go back to ferodo next time.
