Having to rely on the eeepc at the moment, as the laptop's playing up. How can I set up utorrent, or similar, on it?
Had a google, but seems like a foreign language to me!
FFS it really isn't that bad lol. 20mins with a spanner, washers removed, makes a big difference.
Mileage doesn't mean that much. I've seen a sub 25kmiler that I wouldn't touch, then cars on 80k that are spot on mechanically. Take someone with you that knows about them, and check it over well.
Yozza race system. I love mine. Quality is in a different league to the k-tec exhaust I had on previously. Lighter, and better made. Speak to Fred at BTM.
172ph2 would be my choice rather than a 182. Yes the 182 handles slightly better as standard, but most cars you look at will of done 40k+ miles, so the dampers could be refreshed.Spend the money saved buying a 172 on better suspension.
And bar RB, the 172 comes in nicer colours imo. And the...
Ooooft. This discussion does not need to happen again lol. Handling I won't go into, only leads to arguments and it's too subjective. The braking ability of the 197 is awesome though!
I've not tried the vmaxx, fred said the ones he fitted were decent. Not as good as the bigboys, but decent.
I'd still rather have standard than cheap stuff though. Standard is very good IMO, I don't really care about slamming etc.
I made this exact change. And regretted it. Don't do it fella, spend a wee bit on the 172. If you get some decent suspension (road biased like h&r, kw v2) you'll have a car that still rides well, but handles better. Keep your original suspension, and coilovers hold their value fairly well...
I wouldn't pay any attention to that. Airbags are only really an issue if you have glass lenses, as they tend to shatter. Not really an issue with plastic lenses.
It was in this condition, but the belts had been done and mechanically it was sound.
Since buying I've done the seats, changed the steering wheel, the wheels, exhaust, and coilovers. Most of that was through choice though.
For the money, do what I did. I was running a Trophy and a ph2 172. Sold them both, purchased a ph1 172 (low miles, 40kish) that needed work, and spent a bit of cash on it. Best decision I ever made. The best Clio I've owned (prev a ph2 172, a 182cup, ph2 172 again, Trophy).
