I could get some pics if that'd help? The other workplace wouldn't be the driving experience place would it ;)

    Carbon fibre Skin

It's basically sticky vinyl. Protects the paintwork, requires removal by professionals, but thats usually included in the purchase cost. Talking 800-1000 for a decent job (ie bumpers off etc if going for whole car).

    The JDM Appreciation Thread...

TBF thats common practice now, most 5 series I see have one dummy exhaust.

Using my car, but sharing the driving with my old man. Your welcome to come in mine, you can drive it too. I doubt the track will be open early.

Off to look at a 182 - Advice please!

Late 172's (ph2) had cruise control and TC/esp. Early ph2's didn't, the one's inbetween had TC/esp but not cruise.

Off to look at a 182 - Advice please!

I've been strongly advised to look out for non-members ;). PM me your email and I'll send over a guide I've got saved. Your bank details are voluntary.

Off to look at a 182 - Advice please!

Nope, they have the same setup as 172's, so actually you have more choice in coilovers

    bucket seat help (resistors)

Yes, unplug battery for 15mins. The resistor's are fairly self explanatory when you get the seats out, but there is a guide floating about if you search,.

And the pug only has 5spd box.

weight of a 172 non cup alloy wheel?

My new wheels are about 6.5kg. It makes more difference than I realised to the ride quality.
  15. ForceIndia

    Rear wheel bearings...

Not sure. I'll ask him, he's welcome to come with me, but doubt he'd want to as my car won't be available to drive.

    Rear wheel bearings...

PM Fred. He may be able to get them cheap, I could grab them off him and bring them with me. Make it clear that you need them for Tuesday latest though!!

weight of a 172 non cup alloy wheel?

Heavy bastrds, was changing mine over for f1's yesterday, couldn't belive the difference.

Off to look at a 182 - Advice please!

In all honesty, there's no reason to buy a car w/out cup packs over a 172. Hold out for the cup packs, or get a late 172.

    182 manifold on 172

Is the manifold the reason for the 182's being about 5-10% more thirsty?
  20. ForceIndia

    A pattern emerging?

No. Just no. I hate mine, but can't bear the stretch to the YS for my heap.
  21. ForceIndia

    172 vs. standard cooper s (r50)

SC'd a wee bit slower, Turbo's a wee bit quicker. Lock thread!
  22. ForceIndia

    Rear wheel bearings...

Easy job IIRC. I could bring tools and we could probably get it done in the pits at Oulton! (talking about putting new discs on with bearings already pressed in!)

    Carbon fibre Skin

From what I've seen and read that Z4M carbon roof is fantastic, not sure I'd call it tat!

    Carbon fibre Skin

Yep, a Ph1. Good thing is the bonnet is currently matt black, so any stone chips wouldn't show up.
  28. ForceIndia

    Carbon fibre Skin

I was looking at a place near cheltenham, but I've abandoned the full wrap for the moment. I've just emailed the carbonskin place above about getting the bonnet done.
  29. ForceIndia

    Carbon fibre Skin

Depends on the quality, the stuff I've been looking at is 4yrs +. The cheaper grades are more difficult to get a good application, and less durable.
  30. ForceIndia

    A pattern emerging?

Looks good, but keep the standard rims. Seat alone is worth the purchase price after Ali's sat in it.
