Like mentioned in another thread, got a decent block lying about. The head is scrap but it was running when i removed and no bottom end knock, done 60k.

Have u left the spigot rings off the new wheels?? this can cause noise if the centre bore of the new wheels isnt right. The wheels could be unbalance or the tyres on em could be out of shape causing the steering probs.

Yea im sure u dont care what there reputation is, and i cant blame you really. All im saying is that the oly way to get it resolved is go above the service manager and speak to c.s. To let it go this far is ridiculous, the sales department should be charged as it was clearly faulty when the car...

I work at a renault main dealer, so the best thing to do, by experince is ask to see the service manager and explain the problem... 99% of main dealers will just do the work for free and charge it to the sales department ( as the car was faulty at the time of sale) If you get no luck then...

Ive had 1 fitted along with all new standard mounts. I think its good as it stops all gearstick movement and gearchange feels better, although you can feel the engine vibrations alot more when idle'ing. Thats the only downside ive experienced.

Quite common this.. i work as a renault tech seen it quite a few times. If u speak to customer services they most likely will pay a contribution..so ul still av to pay some but it wont be the full whack.. maybe 50%

Beware if you buy a new one off ebay and your key needs ordering to chassis number then it wont code to the car, and ul av to fork out again.

I can always get u 1 with my discount, if u was local cuda coded it cheap too. Altho depending on the car, sum keys are ordered to chassis number and can take 2 weeks to come from france

Nope its coded to the old car ( decoder ring and uch ) so second hand key totally useless

yea iv tried that too but the crane wudnt go high enough / chains were way too long..then i was kinda screwed

getting it out the top is a bit trickier...maybe out by 10?? droppin the engine with the subframes easier..but kinda impossible without a ramp!
