took about 8-12hrs roughly - started on monday and have spent roughly 2hrs a day working on it.
used aluminium oxide paper to start - emery peper did not seem to work very well - went on to wet and dry then - Richmcc gave me instructions and I am well pleased - was gonna pay to do it but...
nah - not unless I can find a second hand one that I can work on and still use the car - am gonna do the Renault sport writing though - think that will look good.
After an hour of snading with 40 Grit sandpaper it looked like this
Then went on to 120/220/440 Grit
Decided to give the centre a coat of Auto Glym metal polish to see how it would look
was quite pleased with that - went on to 500/600 grit then 700/800 grit and then finhally...
I got Hill Power to do mine - they use a local spray shop but they get all the original graphics back on as well as putting some nice Hill Power Graphics on then Lacquer over it so doesnt peel off etc. Looks good. Did mine same silver as the car - hard to see in photos but looks good in reality...

i have the ipod Alpine KCA-420i - it works great unless you have an ipod video - it will still work perfectly and sounds great with all music but if you are hoping to watch video back on the ipod and have sound out of the car speakers then best bet would be to use the headphone out on the ipod...
i went for the 9853R as goes with the dashboard colour better. The illumination is good as well as you can change various different parts to different colours so I have matched it all to the orange on the dash - looks good. Ask Lee (moderator) for some pictures or have a look in the ice...
yeah its a hill power kit - basically a RamAir filter inside a heat protective shield - its really good - makes a decent sound, not as loud as a K&N etc but still good, plus it looks great. Still debatable whether any power gain etc but I like it and did not notice any power loss over the K&N...
no it doesnt peel off - its been there for 2 years now and still as good as new - battery cover doesnt get hot really - in that picture there is also a K-Tec badge on the corner of it and now also a Rentech sticker and have no problems with either.
would be quicker in the 5 turbo - if you havent been in one you should - i have never been in a car like it since - but then Im judging it on my modded 1.4 turbo. They are so light and low to the floor etc they are just great - plus there is a chance of the engine lasting more than a week...
