Sorry mate, that is no way to treat an engine. You can't hold them at those RPMs for that long, they just get too hot. did you even have an oil cooler? (not saying that it was related to you popping a plug out the top).

I'm looking for a bit of background knowledge on valver exhausts.
I've been told the mongoose is good, Had one for a while was well built but never fitted it.
Is the magnex one of the quieter ones?
Not interested in twin tailpipes or anything like that.

NOS works well on a diesel, get on the WON (wizards of nos) forum.
Personally, get a DCI 100 remapped (ifyou can find one, they are rare iirc)
having said that, Ph1 172s can see excellent MPG, if driven with restraint and on a good lambda sensor.
