Alpine is never a big mistake, but many people would say you could do a little better for the cash
^^ is there not a Yozza stealth in the pipeline (scuse pun!) or on the shelf that will increase noise a bit (like the ktec stealth) but not too much (race zorsts are way too loud for me), and still maintain the excellent build quality that yozza seem to hold.
with the 1600s, for £700 I'd expect it with some kind of warranty/proof of low mileage and I'd want a gearbox with it too.
At 20 you will be able to insure a 172 just about. I'm 20.

with dirty cams a remap and some head work you may just touch 300.
Cheapest way to exceed it would be a custom manifold and 2nd hand bike throttle bodies+the above.
as far as i am aware the rad fan temp sensor is plugged into the rad near the top on the drivers side iirc??
You need to buy a new one (anywhere between 8 and 25 pounds) screw it in, plug it in, top up the coolant again (bleed it also) and job done.
Either that or your coolant ran low.
