Try a clutch cable (and a throttle cable for the throttle)
fooked release bearings often make an audible noise when you are sitting still with your foot on the clutch. listen for that.
Check the history for the last clutch change and find out what part was used. It's probably the original...
you need to enjoy the car more mate ;) lol
Might be a coil pack. Buy an RStuner. Then you can have a basic remap and also read any fault codes that may be present, the car will run smoother too.
get a vid. And TBH mate sounds like you lambda. Is your MPG down a bit too?
see http://www.cliosport.net/forum/showthread.php?t=314560&highlight=FAO+everyone+lambda
that ebay ad is useless!? they havent got a fitted and functioning pic at all. gash.
I say probably not mate. Just do Hids. Or genuine RS headlights (even though they cost the earth to do properly.)
Try direct line but I don't think they'll be your cheapest. A little trick to try (with direct line only):
If you know someone (ie parent) with direct line NCB, they car transfer their NCB to you and vice versa. I started my driving career at 17 in a 1.6 clio si, with 7 years NCB paying £600
Just found this pic of a valver on the hillpower website
Does anyone know what the engine is and what the car was built for?
Specs? output?
Looks interesting
Is it a 1.7 480 turbo? if it is, it's the farkin neatest one ever done IMO.
do it definitely.
Get it done by someone respectable. It's pretty much risk free although you may loose warranty (although my renault dealer in banbury does in house remaps that retain warranty iirc).
It's the best bhp/£ increase you will see by far IMO.
AE86 is about as cool as it gets.
But the old 'lines are cooler :)
What engines do people use in them. Are the stock ones ever retained? What is the stock one?
You need the logons etc from aol. Try there help site. You probably need to select PPPoA (most of them are).
Honestly try AOL FAQ, it must be there (unless they want you to ring there £8 a min hotline or whatever)
It's wrong I know,
But I'd have it. Women would abuse you for it, and they'd be right too, but i'd still want it.
More importantly though, the car needs coilovers and 25mm spacers as soon as it is bought. look rubbish without IMO
he will probably do you from a rolling start. 50+
Off the line the diesels are so w**k. I sometimes wonder if it would be faster to start them off in 2nd gear, 1st is so so pointless without a revvy engine.
The engines are quite different iirc mate.
Go for the High comp williams block if your looking for simplicity and the standard 172 engine if your looking to take the car to a NA 185ish bhp.
NA wise, you'll get more power with the 172 block. If you have a lot of cash to blow (about 4k) then you...
Ooops, fail there.
Sounds like limp mode. If the oil is ok now, you should have your car back to normal (if nothings broken) soon.
The ECU should clear the errors and exit limp mode. If not, have renault plug it in
