As I said earlier, about 99% I suspect.
Chip it's easier for an insurer to just pull cover at the ring rather than increase prices of they have to make a payout or two. Happens all to often. This is why most aren't covered first party let alone 3rd party.
As a side, there was a good (long)...
Mine has a decatted Miltek and there's still a flat spot at 2 - 2500rpm even after a map. It can catch you off-guard occasionally and that's where it's a pain.
I'd keep hold of that mate and not let anybody else know who it is. What tends to happen is one person claims and then it's game over as far as that company is concerned.
Once you've gone through the Foxhole flat once, you'll never lift again!
Chip, I'd check your insurance covers 3rd party and not just 1st party now. I suspect 99.9% of Brits out there this weekend aren't covered 3rd party, even the ones who think they are. The age old 'My insurance company...
It's on the approach to Adenauer forst having just come through the Foxhole and therefore extremely high speed (it's flat in a Clio for instance), so it was always likely to be a biggie. Hopefully he/she/they are OK. I dread to think what the bill was for the barrier and the cleanup and fingers...
Disagree with that. My 8 mile commute to work results in 26mpg average and thats driving pretty slow and half of it is dead straight road. I did a 320 mile motorway journey in it then other week and achieved 31.8 according to the computer. Thats driving between 70 and 75 as it really is tiresome...
The car looks great!
Who do you use for TF insurance btw? Big discussion on Northloop at the mo about insurance because it seems the last company offering 3rd party cover has pulled it from their policies. :(
Also - and I can't tell from the pictures if it effects you - but do you have door...
As far as i'm aware thats one type of filter in no way associated with the MK3, especially panel filters.
That said, my 197 has an ITG in it. As far as I can tell it makes no difference over standard.
If he were to put a decent rollcage in it and market it as a race car he might get more of a return. Plenty of series using Clio's these days and the market for an almost ready to go car is there.
Mine certainly would never be sold a) as a road car and b) on here! if I were to ever sell.
My sump has developed a slow weep from it for some reason, so we'll be changing the gasket next weekend. I have a feeling the bolts were done up too tight and its developed the leak after about 2k miles of fairly hard use.
I was going to go and buy a few spare renault bolts but they are...
If you are changing belts i'd put the locking pin in as usual and then double check the camshaft tool fits in place with the old belt still in place. You'd hope your existing belt won't have slipped!
I generally find the pin sits in the correct slot better than the balancing holes. You'll see...
Just get some end caps off of ebay. They are about £5 for the pair and they are fine.
I'd love to see someone try and get them out without damaging them!
I suspect the non standard/original engine will affect its value slightly as it won't be a matching numbers car. This may or not affect things as it depends what the buyer is looking for (originality v history).
A 289 is a lovely car, but it's not an original 427.
