Are those Mahle pistons actually better than the standards?
If they are , I might aswell get them to go with the rod seems as they're only 442£ for the set of pistons
He had a van push water up over his windscreen so I'd hazard a guess we're all fine with the airfeed in standar location, aslong as the water level doesn't go over the bottom grill height ( I've relocated mine to point at the top grill near the alternator
At at the rate I'm going AT, you and me will nearly have the same engine , but I think I'm going down the mechanical injection route to save faffing with looms.

lock it all up again, detension belt, slack three bolts off, retension and then do them back up.
turn over by had a few full rotations to make sure your not hitting piston on valves. re lock again to check.
might be worth getting the timing specs for the later 1.5's with adjustable pulleys
bit hard to get the wrong slot on the crank? im sure the times ive done it, the lock pin will only go in one
lock crank at TDC,
cam lock at TDC
