    Are those Mahle pistons actually better than the standards? If they are , I might aswell get them to go with the rod seems as they're only 442£ for the set of pistons

    He had a van push water up over his windscreen so I'd hazard a guess we're all fine with the airfeed in standar location, aslong as the water level doesn't go over the bottom grill height ( I've relocated mine to point at the top grill near the alternator

    Still have a Delphi common rail pump on the engine? Would be good to know if someone fitted a mk3 engine with the Siemens/Bosch pump to a mk2? glad you got it sorted

    lock it all up again, detension belt, slack three bolts off, retension and then do them back up. turn over by had a few full rotations to make sure your not hitting piston on valves. re lock again to check. might be worth getting the timing specs for the later 1.5's with adjustable pulleys
