arthur , do you know where i can get the conrod specs for the renault 1.9 dti/dci f9q engine? building an engine up atm , and darksides sell a set of forged rods for vw 1.9 ahu engines, want to know if theyre, the same size

hi all , as above, need to know the specs ( messurements of small end/ bigend ect ) of the renault 1.9dti engine con rods... i am hoping that the specs are the same as a VW 1.9 ahu conrod, as darksides do a forged kit for them,which in turn will be helpful for when i build up this custom...

Driving this from my dci is like a god send! Feels so much better to drive, no crappy electrical steering , brakes that brake on the spot, and six cylinders of pure sound :D ive be got first refusal if he ever sells it!!

Yeah probs just needs re adjusting jack it up onto stands, get someone to hold it in center neutral , slack the bolt/nut off and move the gearstick rod to the left slightly. tighten up and try again. make sure you mark the original position before doing anything so you have a fail safe

Checked gear oil level? Selector shaft can be adjusted to get all the gear gates nice but it's tricky to do being as the gap is only a few mm either way to get gears

So no lining us all up? Or are we aloud to move around after the ' event ' ?

No1 gearbox side. No4 cambelt side so yes mate :)

Age plays a part in rubber aswell! You could have a tyre that's don say 6k but is 4years old and cracked to f**k. Only takes something to make it worse and bang the tyres gone cambelts the same, expect if that goes , new engine time

Yeah we ended up easy starting that Mondeo as it wouldn't go, gave it easy start and floored it to get the fuel through. f**king things

Ah the old valve in the pistons game! Good of luck sorting that mess out if it goes ping! For or the sake of it, book it in at a specialist and get it done , asap

No lift pump? When we do a filter change at work on the mondeos , we can't prime the filter as it won't bring diesel through. But the jag xtype can prime through with a primer bulb ( both not fitted with then btw )
