I think it might be worth your while tbh. For a start you'd get a discount code to get a full cambelt kit alot cheaper than £130. Membership paid for itself already....
Needs to be a cambelt kit rather than just the belt. Also an aux belt kit rather than just a belt. Kits contain pulleys, tensioners, seals etc. Changing the dephaser pulley is optional (but assuming you don't know the cars history) it's probably worth while.
If you really must ignore all of us...
They could be number 1 mechanic for Fernando Alonso for all I care, but if they've not got the correct locking tools then you are fcuked.
Enjoy the car.
As you've probably guessed by now, no the engine doesn't have to come out of the car. As that's such a fundamental error i'd consider taking it elsewhere.
Disconnect the battery and walk away for half an hour. Turn wheel 90 degrees one way and undo the torx bolt (I think!!) behind. Rotate steering wheel 180 degrees the other way and undo the other bolt. The airbag will then pull forward. Think there are 2 connectors to unclip from back of airbag...
I think it was me that made the post, but I can't find it either. Yeah, you want 10.9 tensile or above. I bought m8x40 for the subframe to the car and m8x30 for the sidemounts to the subframes. You can buy a set of bolts for sidemounts to seats from Demon tweeks or the like.
Re: A decent garage in surrey to help check and set up timing after cambelt change...
There is a specialist in Sevenoaks that'd do it for you if you can get the car there. Ren7Oaks.
Bloody brilliant Jord. A guy on Northloop did the exact same project. Can't for the life of me remember his name, but was a white e30 with a s14 lump in it. Goes very well (sideways).
Hi chaps,
Can anyone confirm the size of C spanner i need to adjust Vmaxx coilovers? I bought a set second hand that didn't have any. I'm 300 miles from the suspension this week so can't go and measure it!
Cheers
Jon
